  • Appalling

Amarra is setting itself up as a high end audio experience; however, this low-rent app may well be the worst bit of kit I have used in a long time. It's unresponsive, clunky, bereft of features,badly-designed and, with this new update, virtually useless!
In the absence of a remote control for Tidal, I thought that this would be a great solution...Amarra's sound is great, but who can enjoy listening to music when you've got a hit-and-miss remote?

Very poor show, Amarra, this app has really let the side down

  • Takes a long time each time you want to use it

App needs a lot of work . Rarely works after
Running back and forth to your computer for a half hour. After update it does not work at all
I will not renew tidal or amarra remote for iPad
  • Shockingly slow

    This sort of works. Randomly.
  • Any sonic benefits are over shadowed by a sluggish response and buffering

Having a remote interface is necessary unless you like having the tv on all the time. I am rating this 2 stars because it does function, But this better improve quickly if this is going to gain traction over using tidal's own interface. The response time is very frustrating and the app doesn't have the ability to remember the album lists. So if you close the app and reopen you have to wait for all your album lists to refresh all over again. Opening the app scrolling to an album and then streaming it over my fast wifi can take several minutes and that's if nothing crashes in between. I do like not needing to have the tv on while I am streaming tidal but this needs improvement! Any sonic benefits over the standard tidal site in my opinion aren't worth the added frustration of using this app and the Amarra for tidal software. The software gets 2 stars as well for the same reasons.

  • Pas bon à grand-chose

Should have finished the job before issuing.
  • Getting better

I've finally got the pairing down, but I still think the app crashes a bit too often. The app is certainly designed around listening to selections you've previously discovered and not so much for finding new music. The functions are all there though. The app does tax my machine so disabling all the non-essential routines is mandatory for me. This will do for now. The sound quality of Tidal with Amarra can't be faulted.

  • Poor for a premium service

This remote app is really unresponsive. It looks incredibly cheap, it fails in comparison to the Spotify and iTunes equivalent. I pay £25 a month for the hifi service from tidal and I've paid extra for the amarra for tidal, the remote function being the main draw. Hoping there's an update pretty soon to iron out these flaws. It would be nice if someone actually thought about the user interface too. It's not user friendly. It takes ages to communicate with my mac. By the time it does. I may as well have gotten up from my sofa, and loaded up the next track myself.

It's about time tidal got a remote app. But this is not what I was expecting.

  • Finally! This is the icing on the cake

Wow, makes using Amarra for Tidal so much better. Now I don't have to be near the computer to control the music. I can see all my playlists and all my individual tracks on my iPhone

Easy to pair the phone IF you follow the directions. Both computer and phone MUST be on the same WiFi network and you must pair with the 4 digit code.

  • After upgrade it won't pair

I upgraded to Amarra for Tidal 2.0.1238 using a fresh install (simple upgrade crashed repeatedly) mainly for the remote app. After downloading the app and finding the remote setup (bottom of left column) it says v2.0 is required and I should upgrade. I just did that. Little help from developers please? Love this product and really want the remote app to work!

  • It works, and well

As of this writing on Jan 14, this app works. Tonight I downloaded the new version of 'Amarra for Tidal' to my MacBook and when I checked to see what this new update brought, I saw that the remote functionality that many users have been waiting for has been released. Now, the OSX AfT app is buggy, not very pretty beyond the surface, and a pain in general... but it sounds nice so many of us audiophiles are willing to be what they call "early adopters" in the tech world. Yes, this common releasing of unpolished work is not going anywhere, for many books actually advocate this way of developing technological solutions. So, while your music sounds better, your interface with said software will be slow to deliver the same level of polish of the actual TIDAL app. That said, this remote app (I guess because of the developer kit for iOS devices) seems more polished and fluid than the desktop experience. While your simply remote controlling the desktop app, it is a great asset to your listening experience and is worth downloading. 👍🏼. One bug I found immediately is an extension of the desktop software, and that is that my multiple hundred of track playlists don't show all the tracks included when you open them. I see that It recognizes they are there, but they do not show up unless you attempt to reload the playlist several times. Polish polish polish, and this will be a lovely app soon.
