  • Great sounding app!

    This app is great if you want to listen to music in beautiful sound quality (with a good DAC, of course!):
    - for free you can listen to most of your Hi-Res music, only have to pay if you want MQA & some more EQ options; that is very good value;
    - if you have Amarra Luxe, you can use the app as a remote, and even stream your music onto your phone on the same network;
    - customer support is second to none: I mainly have experienced this with Amarra Luxe, but even in this app I have submitted bug reports, feature suggestions, and they were implemented within days.

    There are some things that need to improve and still be implemented: use the feedback function, and let the developers know.

    I for one think have found the app for Hi-Res playback both for iOS and macOS, from the same developers, whose the apps work together.

    Keep up the good work!

    Thank you CalixFurus! Wa are checking daily for user feedbacks, and trying to incorporate as much as we can, taking into account time restrictions we have. Basically, this is a free app, we are charging for MQA, EQ extension and ability to stream from your Tidal/Qobuz (more to come), but everything else is for free. Kindly ask everyone to use feedback feature in the App for your enchainment request or bug report, leave you email address so we can contact you.
  • My USB Dragonfly DAC has a new best friend!

    I recently treated myself to a fancy new Dragonfly Black DAC from Audioquest, and so far this app has been the most reliable and the best option out there.

    If you, like me have purchased MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) FLAC flies and have been on the hunt for an app that can perform the first unfold for your MQA Renderer, you have found it.

    MQA is something worth looking into, even just reading up on. Kinda hard to explain, but music files sound more ‘real’ to me with it, than without

    The app also supports Tidal subscriptions which is handy and has a large streaming catalog of MQA music.

    They’re team has also been quick in response to bug reports.
    I’m excited to see what features that future releases will bring!

  • Doesn’t load

    I’m using iPad mini and it doesn’t load. There is no app screen although it does show in running apps.
  • Crashes everytime

    I've never been able to use this app because it crashes every single time!
  • No DSD support in Amarra Luxe

    Amarra Luxe does not support DSD or DoP rather they convert DSD to PCM. I’ve asked when DSD support will be available and they say they don’t feel there is a market for it. Pity

  • Crash crash crash

    Crashes every time within seconds
  • Mostly just fine but...

    Audio quality is as expected from Sonic Studio. But the user interface is lacking one critical feature, NO SEARCH! This is an issue when you have thousands of tracks off 1500 album collected over several decades. I reinstalled Apple Music and will only use Amarra Play to remote Amarra Luxe. Close but no cigar.

  • App Could Use A Little More Refinements

    After paying for every “so-called” high resolution apps in the App Store for the sake of comparison and finding out that there are marginal differences between them, as far as sound quality goes, well, in my opinion, and ended up less than satisfied with their sound quality,

    Then I remembered that I had downloaded the Amarra app months ago an never given much thought to it again, because there were not much to be excited about, as far as features go. The iTunes playlist is organize, but if you decide to import your own high resolution music to the Amarra Player, then its a night mare to sort between the Apple Music and the high res files, to add insult to injury, the app at time group two or more albums together, making it difficult to find your music, plus there is no easy way to easily label and organize your music in a logical manner. Not sure if the developer for this app has given up on it.

    The reasons for my frustrations are, I decided to finally play some music through your app and have been blown away by the noticeable improvement in sound over the Onkyo Hifi and all the others that I have tested from the app. The sound has been much more detail, less harsh, wider & deeper sound stage. I am so impressed that I have decided to stick with you app for the foreseeable future, so it would be nice if you guys would add the capabilities for users to sort and organize their own hi res music in a better manner.

    Your company pride yourselves on Hi Fidelity sound, so why leave us with iTunes, that no real audiophiles have any interest in. I would say if you are going to do something, why not just do it properly, like for example, build out the app with features that will appeal to us audiophiles.

    Again, I am deeply in love with the sound quality, but hate the bare-bone design of the app.
