  • Works for me!

I have IBS and and the symptoms were driving me crazy! I started the diet using the book and on day one had substantial improvement. Have since also obtained the app and find the food lists in it with the ratings to be invaluable.
  • Life saver!

After a SIBO diagnosis and two weeks on an elemental diet to starve off bad bacterial and reset my digestive tract, my doctor recommended this app to help the transition back to solid foods. The Fast Track Diet app saved me so much confusion and helped make food fun again. I love that I can find some pre-made foods but can also create my own foods in the app so I can easily determine what is most likely to make me sick or not.

  • Easy to use app

Genius diet. It's working for me. Actually, it's a godsend. Symptoms nearly gone after just a week. Off antacids/h2 blocker which seemed impossible before. App has been easy to use. Thanks a ton.
Update: Using the Fast Tract diet, I was able to be completely off antacids for about 6 months, after having to take them daily for many years. I overdid it this Thanksgiving so have been back on the Fast Tract for the past few days. Improving already! The Fast Tract diet really works! Highly recommend to anyone suffering chronic acid reflux/GERD. Norm Robillard has figured out the solution. I can’t thank him enough.

  • So many bugs

I’m extremely frustrated that I wasted money on this app. It doesn’t respond when I click on things, freezes almost every time I use it. Not to mention it has a very limited database of items to choose from. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money.
  • Good idea, not ready for market yet.

I purchased this app, but it’s basically useless. Almost all of the food I eat is not listed in the database. For example, Brussels sprouts is not listed, but raw pumpkin leaves are??? It’s pretty much impossible to utilize this app if the food you eat is not listed. Also, the user needs to find out each particular foods glycemic index, which is NOT part of the app. This was a waste of money for me.

  • Back navigation not working

I just downloaded and off the bat noticed the navigation to go back does not work.

App needs some bug fixes. Looks like it’s been a year since the last update. If I’m paying 8 bucks for this, I’d like to see regular updates.

I’d also like to see this updated to include more vegan meal replacements/supplements (Vega, Sun Warrior, etc) as well as more vegan foods besides fruits veggies and rice.

I feel like I wasted 8 bucks on this glitchy app. As a stated if ppl are paying 8 bucks, regular updates should be made—I get more bang for my buck from my free and $2 apps. I wish I could get a refund. This app has too many bugs. And I see the developer and the doctor have no intention on maintaining this. Smh.

  • Limited food list

Great app, purchased just for food list, however the food list is very SAD-based (Standard American Diet) and not as whole foods based as could be. Too many processed foods listed (breads, dressings, desserts, etc.). Many 'alternative' ingredients that those of us have been using for a long time in the Paleo/AIP community are missing, as are many whole foods. I understand this as there are still so many folks that do not eat entirely the whole foods way (yet). However, would love to see a more exhaustive whole foods list of raw & cooked foods.

    Developer Response

Keep in mind the app lists foods in the market helping people identify gut friendly foods, but also warns about the high fermentablility (symptom potential) of many foods you should avoid. In other words, avoiding a Snicker's bar is a good idea in general, but its also very high in FP points. We are up to some 180 veggies, herbs, etc and the next release which is being finalized will have over 1000 foods to choose from including a huge variety of whole foods which is also the way we eat.
  • Helpful start to FTD

I read about the FTD online, and decided that I would try the app. So far I have found it helpful in tracking my foods and symptoms. The foods list is a little bit limited considering that it only has about 800 foods in it, and obviously we eat many more types of foods. So when I don't find a food in it, I use something comparable or I add a custom food item.

The custom recipe option though seems like it could be improved because all it does is add up the FPs for each ingredient. I'm thinking that the combination of ingredients would probably have a different FP, but I'm not sure about that. It would also be great to have some sample recipes included, and I agree with other reviewers about the syncing problem although I'm told that that will be fixed in an upcoming version.

I'm also hoping that there will be a way to add custom symptoms since my symptoms differ a little bit from the symptoms list that comes with the app.

Overall, I'm finding it helpful and useful, so it is worth it for me.

  • Bugs

Purchased the app today. Later tried to use my charging device (iPhone 6), it stopped charging within a few seconds and a message popped up stating "this accessory may not be supported". I deleted the app and my charger works. I re-downloaded the app and the same thing happened.
  • Definitely worth it

I love the app, I use it all the time. It's intuitive and easy to use. It allows you to look up foods at home and on the go (when eating out or shopping, for example), calculate and record FPs for recipes or new foods, keep track of daily FPs... I am rather new to the diet, and this has been a wonderful tool in addition to Dr. Norm's book.
