Several Problems
There are some features that work well. But there are several serious issues that need to be addressed. When I first got the app, it defaulted to the lowest definition setting, and I spent 10 hours filming only to realize that the video quality was subpar when I got the video into post-production. That was an easy fix, and I always double check it now, but tonight I had one take to get an important shot and the steady lighting feature caused the zoom function to glitch resulting in a jarring visual effect that can’t be fixed in post. I wouldn’t have used this feature at all, but the On button to turn on the light wasn’t working either. I had to film without the app after this, but a once in a lifetime shot for a academic presentation was ruined.Show lessCrackle321
ZY Play
This app seems to have a mind of its own. It is extremely challenging to establish a Wi-Fi connection between the device and the stabilizer. There is little or no documentation in terms of troubleshooting these problems.cfclaude
Upgrade has broken record button
Hi,
Just upgraded to latest version on IOS12 device and the record button is not stopping the recording anymore. It worked on the previous version. Please update and fix.skerreti
Glitchy Bluetooth
Initial review I said it wouldn’t connect. I unpaired it from my Bluetooth and reconnected it and then reinstalled the app and paired it again via the app. This seemed to do the trickJasonfernandes271090
What a piece of junk!!
The hardware is expensive and solid, but this app has got to be the worst bit of hot garbage coding I’ve ever seen! Barely works properly with the WEEBIL S, doesn’t work worth a damn when trying to connect to the Transmount image transmitter. All it does is open up your phone settings screen EVEN WHEN CONNECTED TO THE DAMN DEVICE WIFI NETWORK!! It prompts you that a firmware update is available, but then lyingly tells you that it can’t be updated OTA. It’s like the app can’t figure out what the hell is going on half of the time. I invested solid money into this system and bought into it and now I just feel ripped off.Show lessNataphajn
Little support for Fuji Film
Whether the issue lies with Fuji or Zhiyun, I don’t know. However, I spent £100 on the image transmitter and half of the settings advertised don’t appear accessible for my camera - not even the record or iso functions which it says are useable on their website. This may be a user error on my part but with the lack of support or functionality available it’s no wonder I can’t make head or tail of it! Good but not reliable
On principle this is great. There are a few functionalities lacking like when you do a timelapse with multiple points, to have some Gaussian or sigmoïds too smooth the transitions. Also more controls on the exposure time for timelapse. I see that app as a good v1 beta but not a release. Sometime some functionalities doesn’t work (sync x/y with phone, yesterday moving TL wasn’t working etc..)Show lesslpalbou
No livestream with the hdmi transmission module
One of the main selling points of buying the weebill S and the hdmi transmission module... Was to be able to use this with Facebook and rtmp... with the ZY play app... At the moment there’s no livestream.. and the horizon wobbles... Not user friendly.
First it doesn’t save the Bluetooth pairing in phone settings. When it is connected it doesn’t show the (I) for information like all other Bluetooth devices. Next in order to update the Smooth 4 you need to download the update to your pc and install it there instead of updating using the app. Then as far as using the Smooth 4 a MAX iPhone is too large for to balance correctly. Once turned on it will adjust, but as you’re told in the video if you don’t have it calibrated correctly it will use more battery power to balance it. Then for a unknown reason it will let the camera flop from horizontal to portrait position. I think it will take a lot of patience and practice to get this fully understood.Show lessLegend45
I Only Use It To Upgrade iPhone Firmware!
This app works with my Smooth Q2, kinda sorta.
However, forcing us to record via Zhiyun to gain a few extra features that are hardly ever needed is not only power hungry, but also baulky and cumbersome.
Using the Smooth Q2 with the iPhone’s own camera app is an intuitive delight, especially when compared with the other gymbals I have owned.Show lessRon M (Sydney, Australia)
