Improved app but missing key options
There is a new “pro” user interface when pairing the app with the new Smooth 4 which is actually really nice and easy to use however there are a couple of things that are just missing.
1. There is no way to select the desired photo resolution. Hitting the physical camera button on the gimble takes a photo but only at the current resolution that is set for video. So if I have the video set to 1080p then I get a 1080 photo but not the native full resolution available on the iPhone X. Anyone know if I am doing something wrong???
2. There isn’t a way to auto save photos and clips to the camera roll so that they auto upload and backup to the cloud (iCloud photo library).Show lessJ4YP34
Broken time lapse.
Great App. I love the features it has, but lacks options to fine tune things.
1. Doesn’t give you an option for how many FPS you want for time lapse, nor does it tell you how many frames it’s capturing.
2. Moving time lapse waypoint is somewhat broken. When waypoints are activated, it pauses at each stop and randomizes speed from slow to fast for each waypoints. Sometimes it doesn’t end all its waypoints and finishes the video.
I think there should be a speed adjustment option as well as if you want to stop at each waypoint. Also an option to tell the smooth q to go clockwise or counter clockwise to a waypoint.
I have to give it a 3 Star instead of 5 because of these reason.

Good app missing a valuable tool
The app works great with the Smooth 4. So many features. It has the 4k in 24 frames setting that others complained was missing in the past. Would use this app instead of filmic pro except it lacks one major features for me. The ability to save video in HEIC format. This is a huge plus for phones since it lowers significantly the amount data it takes to record vidoes. Hope they can add this in the future. WORST APP IN THE APP STORE. ITS NOT WORKING
I’ve been trying to use this app for months now, and it never works. I got it once to work and I was able to customize the motors speed, but since then, it never worked. I’ve tried to use the movie time lapse mode, that one doesn’t work either. I’m setting the key frames for motion but the gimbal doesn’t start the movement, it doesn’t go to the initial point, IT DOESN’T WORK.
Now I’ve tried again to use the app, I’m connecting to gimbal but I’m not seeing anything other then the buttons, but they don’t do anything. The app has full access to phone’s camera, mic and photo app, but I’m not getting any live feed.
It’s the worst app I have on my phone.
It might not be compatible with iPhone 8+..idk.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times, rebooted my phone but still doesn’t work.
ITS GARBAGE.
I’m only frustrated for the hours I lost trying to figure out how to get it to work. YES..HOURS, not minutes and I’m a techy guy.Show lessrazvan26_glav
App too slow for video
The gimbal itself is awesome.
However, if I try and shoot video through this app on my iPhone 6+ at 1920 and 60fps, the app cannot keep up and the video is jerky and records only a few frames per second.
I thought maybe it was just a lag on the display during recording, but when I went back and watched the video, the jerky motion was actually recorded.
I closed the app and opened the default Apple camera app and found I could record video perfectly. So it’s not the processing speed of my phone, it’s just that this is not a quality app.Show lessDdort
Gimbal Customers Beware
Don’t get me wrong, the hardware engineering is good, but this company markets their products with integrated apps as a major selling point. The gimbal and app simply does not function as advertised. I really don’t know where to start because absolutely nothing works as expected. I have the Crane Plus with a Sony a6500 and the motion timelapse will only save a video from your phone - photo time lapse is an option but are not selectable. The screenshots do not match the actual product and the online tutorial videos actually had me wondering if I’d installed the wrong app entirely. Support has been nonexistent. I’m seriously considering returning the hardware while I still have a chance.Show lessCasey.Lee
Just testing the app before I buy the gibal.
Few things would make this a all in one mobile app solution for a good gimbal.
Separate menu for FPS
4K at 60, and 24 option
Slow motion frame rates, 120, 240
One menu button to select the resolution. And a submenu to select the frame rates available for the resolution that was selected. It’s available in the iOS, the libraries are their for the newer iOS and hardware. It just needs to be reconciled with these options. I hope to see these updates soon for the smooth 3 gimbal and all your other gimbals.
Still a good app, could be better as an all in one solution of it had access to all the features and libraries the phones have to offer.Show lessScottD1
App functions limited/ not working
I purchased crane 2 (firmware 1.7)to stabilise my Canon 5D IV. The app allows me to select and create different modes for the gimbal sensitivity, but motion time-lapse and time-lapse is not functioning at all.
The stabilisation mede profiles show on 1/4 of the phone screen and customising them is a nightmare of sequential menus. This needs redesign.
Auto focus feature of the half pressed grip button does not function as well. Even this app can’t activate the shutter of the camera.
Bluetooth is dropping connectivity every minute or so.
Terrible waste of time.
Please update to more stable and easy to use version. Even, create professional edition with no fancy useless filters but essential functionality and clear design.Show lessBahurkata AU
Doesn’t work with Crane 2
The app or gimbal keeps disconnecting from the app, even though the camera (Canon 5D3) is connected via a cable and on the gimbal handle you can control some basic functionality the app can’t control anything on the camera, can’t trigger the shutter, start or stop recording, non of the timelapse functionality is working, very disappointing.
