Going the way of GoW
When I first started GoK, it was a great alternative to Game of War. The devs asked for feedback and they didn’t add new features every week. Once the HD version was released, things went downhill. The HD version is almost unplayable on my phone. The phone starts overheating and the lag, just scrolling around the kingdom, gets worse the longer I’m on HD. I can switch back to the old version and things run smoothly again. But the new events only show up on the HD version. Now they are introducing t5 troops and other new events just to keep the 20 or so players that are massive spenders happy. If you start the game now, you’ll never catch up to the “bigs”. I have left my alliance, put up a 30 day shield, and I’m not sure I’ll be back. I hate to give up on a game I’ve put so much time and money into, but I can see it going the way of GoW. It was fun for a long time, but the devs don’t listen and only cater to 5-figure spenders.Show lessMaine000
Good, but moving wrong direction
UPDATED REVIEW:: This “was” a good strategy war game which use to keep your money in your wallet. As of 2023 the developers began designing the game to heavily favor the big spenders. Today no amount of time dedication combined with small spending will save you from losing everything if you’re not shielded. This means feeling like a coward hiding behind a shield. For example I have over 210 Million of only the highest quality troops which has taken over 3 years, I have most bonus sets complete, most research finished and easily spent over 500 on this game yet as of June… every day I must hide behind a shield. The game use to be good fun for whale spenders, big spenders, small spenders and just dedicated players… but today it’s only a game for people spending at least 4 figures each year.Show lessNTJedi
RIP - GOW / GOK / next
Must pay big to play. This is not play for free game like advertised. Make no mistake about it. You will spend a small fortune of you want to play this game to its potential. I brought my alliance from GOW 4 years ago. We played GOW for 5 years before they got stupid with all the updates. Now GOK is about the same age and stages of bull crap they dish out to their loyal customers. Now they cancelled all kill events for the remainder of the year and push packs to buy for the latest garbage you’ll need to play. Latest IOS update locked players out of their accounts causing them get zeroed. Developers won’t even respond to requests for compensation for losses caused by the developers updates. This game is GOW all over again too. Total crap stay away! We’re all jumping ship to the next adventure. THIS GAME IS A COMPLETE JOKE and doesn’t even resemble the preview shown in the AP store. I downloaded this game a few days ago. I spent some money with the packages got up all my buildings did all the work I log out a couple of days later I go back in to play in my avatars, changed to a black warrior and I’m a white guy that’s playing the game so I knew something happened. The Warriors name was the one I put, but my email address was changed. The password was changed I try to set a pin and then the next day the pin was changed you can’t speak to anybody to change it back to your original email address and they’re telling me that it wasn’t logged in from any other device that the one I’m on, so how did all this happen I WOULD NOT DOWNLOAD THIS IF IT’S THAT EASY TO HACK AN ACCOUNT and you get no help it’s not worth it
So I just received a comment back from this company and they’re telling me that I wasn’t hacked that it was through my phone. I’m the only one that has my phone number one number two I am not black in it. That’s not my email address so riddle me that but he has my name that I made the avatar reps in that picture is not me, so tell me that.Show lessRogers1021

I have been playing this for awhile and have been frustrated by the lack of support for the iPad. The game runs fine for the most part but has big issues in relation to the iPad (both the official and the HD development versions). There are various screens that restrict the iPad users and, in my opinion, place these users at a disadvantage. These users have to scroll more, are unable to access some functions due to display issues and have to restart the game to get out of some screens. Admin has said they are working on these issues but that story is getting old. If you plan to play on an iPad, I would recommend that you wait until improvements are completed.Show lessPNW Gaming

Don’t waste your time on this game. I purchased a beginners pack for legendary builders gear and there was a glitch that did not allow me to equip the gear. I sent multiple messages and screen shots clearly identifying the problem to their customer service reps and they obviously didn’t look into it as I got the same advice back saying I needed to unlock more inventory slots. I knew this wouldn’t work but I spent more gold and tried it anyway. Of course, it didn’t work. I guess I wasn’t spending enough money for anyone to care or take the time to actually look into the problem. Extremely poor service. It’s a pay to play game which I understood but you expect the things you paid for to work. Spend your money elsewhere!Show lessTLBgamer

Dear player, thank you for your review. To equip gears,players need to have empty slots in inventory. So we recommended you to creat enough empty slots. It's because you have a lot of gear that caused your slots to be filled immediately after you unlocked them. We recommend that you can break some lower level pieces that are less helpful to your city.Kindly have a try.Chess Not Checkers
Honestly this game can be a lot of fun if you focus on the right things. Never compare your base to the next. We all work/play at out own pace.
Some helpful tips....
Shield Maintenance is the biggest issue I see with new and old members. CHECK your Shield!!!!
Do endless events..... Helps keep you afloat
Save hero energy. It is the most valued thing in the game. Everything is based upon monsters.
Try joining a Hunting alliance. This will help you grow without spending. Gives speed ups for training troops, building and research. Also Gold.
Save gold you will need it later.
Starting out work on hero/trap/economy research. This will help you in the long run. Don’t waste your scripts. Save them as you grow and spend on the research needed.
Figure out what kind of account you want. Trap, filler or lead. Leads cost a lot and so can bigger traps. So many ways to play. Just find one that suits you and have fun. Its a GAME!! Please have fun.
Playing small accounts under SH15 can be fun too. They make great hospital traps. Again have fun and build your account the way you want.Show lesslAmesl
Incredibly Poor Customer Service, Blatant Disregard for Customers
I started playing this game as it is similar - pretty much identical - to Game of War. I appreciate the social aspect, and also the strategy. As opposed to GoW this game was supposed to not ‘gouge’ the player every 2 seconds with new packs and costs, making it impossible to play without spending big $. This is true, somewhat. However, this game is riddled with bugs and issues and the customer service is a joke. When they screw up big time - and the entire kingdom loses out due to all players on apple devices being blocked for a duration?! - they throw a small ‘bone’ out to everyone to ‘compensate’. But if you suffer individual loses due to their poor programing expect ALL of your inquiries to be ignored. My advice is do not waste your money unless you have a ton to spend and do not mind getting screwed over. pucck K3Show lesspucck
