  • Sharing is broken for more than 1.5 year!

It’s a great app but lack of ability to share from iOS context menu plus lack of ability to share multiple media files at the same time is a deal breaker for us.
Developer dropped support of iOS share menu and pointed it will be added in new (not yet ready) Element X app but after 1.5 year it’s still not here not there…

  • Chat with myself

Okay but why can't I create a chat with myself. I want to use this to exchange text between devices. I can create chat with myself on element web app but not here.
  • Incredibly hard to set up and use

It takes multiple computer scientists an hour or so to set up this app and an account to start chatting with a preexisting group.

Also the “mark as read” doesn’t work at all, it marks nothing as read and my app permanently has false unread notifications.

UI is garbage too for a hundred reasons. For some reason it hides my 1:1 chats and shows me a fixed mixture of group chats (rooms) and old 1:1 that haven’t been used in a long time, at the top of the list.

  • Need gif

The apps is very good but the apps miss a feature a lot of people need : the gif
Please add gif in mobile and desktop version
  • Session Management on Multiple Devices

I’ve reported this several times to no avail. When you use Element on several devices it is unable to decrypt the messages on the 2nd and 3rd device without a lot of hassle rendering it useless since the messages are all unreadable. You have to reinstall and pray it works. This doesn’t happen on any other app I am aware. Essentially Element’s cross verification process is very buggy and doesn’t work properly. I’m ready to give up on using the app anymore.

  • syncing….

I know its Apple’s crappy implementation of background functionality further aggravated by the current implementation of Matrix, but the perpetual discrepancy in notification numbers and need to wait for the app to sync every time the app is opened is a huge UX turn-off towards convincing more people to embrace the platform. I know this is supposed to be better with the next gen, but i’m not asking any friends or family to try this app out until it is capable of behaving like any other IM app on their iphone without the need to wait for it to sync every time.

  • Potential

Great idea, matrix and all that, but the font scaling on iOS is terrible:( and there are no real alternatives for matrix
  • Excellent overall, iOS needs work

The text is tiny and won’t go larger no matter the system settings, and the notification sound literally causes pain. It either needs an option to set it to messages default, or we need in app choices or something. For me this is an accessibility concern. I love the apps on osx and windows though.
  • Up and coming

Still needs work on ease of use across the whole platform

Current app version has issues sending pictures on cellular
  • Issue with making new chats

App was working fine a week ago, but suddenly, when I try to create new 1 to 1 chats, the application crashes. Please fix this soon, I do need to talk to certain people here..
