  • Absolutely Worth Playing

It’s my first time finishing a game so it’s my first time reviewing a game. I’m quite sad that it ended sooner but I absolutely love it. I’m not a fan of reading, at all .. but I’m forced to read because of the game but I don’t regret it at all! It helped me learn about the plot and the story itself. The puzzles are cool and really new in my opinion, some of them confused my head that I needed to take a break and think before playing it again. Also, I absolutely love the “exams” because of the moral stories. I hope the developer make more games like this one! I’ll definitely play it!

  • quarantine chronicles

I downloaded this during quarantine to take some time away when i'm bored and I didn't really know much about this masterpiece, only that it caught my eye. I'm really impressed by it actually and if you're someone who likes solving riddles/puzzles or want to work your brain, this is the game for you. Of course it has a beautiful story to it and such, also every person i'm sure goes through different experiences going through with the game. I recommend you play it.

quick summary : if you're in quarantine like me and partially smart, download it please.

  • What a game.

This short, powerful game made by a one “Skot” truly shows what initiative and creative drive can create. The only thing more surprising is that this game is both free and for mobile. The atmosphere is cold, yet inviting in its emptiness and ambience through the jet black backgrounds and galaxies. That, and the small sound effects added into moments to increase the tension, or the many decisions you can make to unlock secrets. Overall, this game is amazing, if not perfect. The only thing that makes me sad is that I can assume Skot takes time to make these things, and the next one may not be here for a while.

  • absolutely stunning

i’m not going to lie, i had my doubts at first. when it comes to text read sort of games, i’m not really a big fan. i’m very visual, so i thought it would be hard for me to enjoy the experience. however, the game is actually very aesthetically pleasing and also has a gorgeous soundtrack. there were many subtle details that i thought were very clever. the fact that a small note halfway in the game extends the experience in a separate function was also really cool to me.
the storyline was beautiful. i almost cried when i received my first ending. the characters and the dynamics are all very real and they have a very special place in my heart. although the game was short, it made a very lasting impression.
my only complaint is that there weren’t many options that were tailored to quite what i believed. when i chose something for one reason, the reason the character wrote down in-game wasn’t what i was thinking at all. i had an entirely different perspective.
that said, the game was always one step ahead. i was in for quite an enjoyable surprise. i’m so glad to have had a chance to play this and forever thankful to my friend who knew my tastes in games. this game was on another level that most mobile games try and fail to achieve. thank you, developers, so much for creating an amazing experience.
12/10 recommend. if you want an investing storyline with intriguing and thoughtful elements, this is the game for you.

  • Skot

This is probably one of the best games I’ve played in a long time. It challenged me and my ability to problem solve (which is pretty poor in and of itself), and also led me on a journey through Able Black. The main storyline is breathtaking, and the puzzles had me working my brain for hours on end. I would sit on a puzzle for a couple hours, never fully leaving the game. I think the developer did a fantastic job, and I’m excited to see more works from him in the future. I’m excited to share this game with my girlfriend to see her reaction as well. AND THE REFRENCES!! THOSE HAD ME ABSOLUTELY HOOKED!! Why is a crow like a writing desk? Space Oddity by David Bowie? I mean come on that’s legendary. Props to the game and to the brilliant independent developer Skot. Fantastic game :)

  • Wonderful work for one developer

The game itself was more like a story than a puzzle, i feel like more of them could be added. The plot was wonderful, I loved the character development, the style of it was slightly reminiscent of a separate puzzle based game called The Guides, there was one puzzle which I couldn’t figure out without hints, the one with the key and roman numerals. The storyline had me completely immersed, plot twists had foreshadowing, I loved the flow of things, the creativity and problem solving. The bits of character revealed at the end of each test were wonderful as well, while playing I was reminded of a movie called I Am Mother of course they weren’t nearly close in plot, but the base idea was similar which I liked, the amount of detail put into it was wonderful, in general I give all the acclaim I can, especially towards the storyline, and I hope to see more games like this in the future, great job. Keep making more like this and you’re sure to create great things.

  • Unexpected Pleasant Surprise

When I downloaded this game, I was honestly just hoping to merely chill and solve puzzles. I was definitely not expecting not only a fantastic game with the ominous music and unique gameplay features, but the fantastic story got me completely offguard! I had a whirlwind of emotions (mostly fear from the music and sound effects 😅), and its one of the few games I’ve ever been immersed with, and it’s especially been crafted extremely well.

My only real critique is the puzzles by itself, as in some puzzles are extremely creativity like the one showing the keys, and then some puzzles like the “spider counting” puzzle was sort of bland and kind of “meh” when I finally solved it. Otherwise, great game Skot! ;)

  • I have one problem with the game (so far)

I noticed in the puzzles it asks forthe brief explanation, but you can’t actually write it. The explanation the game gives, especially when you compare mother to the desert or spider, are alot more hateful and agressive than my actual reasoning for choosing those awnsers. Like in the first puzzle, I said mother was like the desert, meaning she was harsh and pushed you to your limits in order for you to learn, but the breif response that was given was something like “mother is cruel are harsh” or something like that. Ik that like theres not rlly a solution to this but like i feel like it’s putting words in my mouth and making my character seem alot more hateful than I intended for him to be. Ik it’s nit-picky but its really the only problem I have with it so far and it does kinda take me out of the game. I feel like if we could wrote our own awnsers but it like just doesnt affect the outcome at all that’d be cool, cause its not like the breif response actually affects anything, only the awnser you choose. I dunno its really fun game tho.

  • OMG THIS IS SINGLE HANDEDLY THE BEST APP GAME IVE EVER PLAYED

EDIT I TOTALLY DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS MORE TO THE GAME AFTER THE STORYLINE IM EVEN MORE IMPRESSED.

I’m beyond just beyond impressed, it’s really hard for me to find mobile games or apps that I really can get into and actually be willing to sit and play throughly.. BUT THIS.. THIS IS A MASTERPIECE. I love the way the game actually makes you think it correlation with real life and real time. I love the psychology I love the story line, I love everything about this game. Only because I’m super greedy I could’ve sat here and played this through even if it was a 10 hour game... & ( I really wish it was ) I can only hope because I’m actually obsessed with this game that they either come out with a longer maybe episode two or a longer game like it, I mean heck I’ll take anything at this point. I’m gonna replay again and see if it’s any different ...and then I’m gonna lay again and probably again after that, idk I’m absolutely amazed. Like I said I’ve been on the App Store for years and there has NEVER been a game that even comes close to this. Alright I’m done, but seriously take my advice and PLAY IT.

  • Amazing Plot

I was blown away by how interactive and story driven this was. It gave me goose bumps from the letters, from the words and tiny stories that came with the whole game. It was amazing. I loved every second of it. I couldn’t take my eyes off it until I had to uncover the rest. It was a breath of fresh air. Especially how hard the riddles get. How it made me use my brain and I had to actually write some down to wrap my head around most of them! It was truly a great game! Thank you for making this. It was so wonderful. If you ever are in need of wanting to do puzzles that go along with an amazing short story, I recommend this one!
