Abel Black is a puzzle game first. The puzzles themselves are not particularly difficult, and with hints available if you get stuck. What I enjoyed most was the format. A narrative explaining the situation with some character development, an interesting one. Abel Black harkens back to the old Choose Your Own Adventure books, bringing a puzzle game into an interesting format. It's not far-fetched to say that this could set up a new genre for games and reading. At least I hope. It's real weakness is its brevity. I hope and expect future games like this will be longer, much longer, and more in depth. Hell, I kind of wish I worked for them. I'd love to help write the narrative.
