Pretty Decent App
The app is very reliable and responsive. You can do all of the most common actions on the Traeger and the proactive alerts are excellent.
The Timer function needs an extra “Stopwatch” tab so you can see how long it’s been on, but otherwise no issues at all.

Private Relay information buried
The need to ensure private relay is off for IOS should be in app messages rather then buried on a website.
The Traeger grill is great; the app is only good
The Traeger app provides excellent ability to remotely monitor the grill and the cook.
things that would make it a great app:
1) recording of the entire cook
My (Big Green) Egg Genius app records the entire cook, so you can see exactly how the temperature of the meat has climbed, included exactly how long it has been in the “stall”. This is valuable.
2) saving all cooks
The Egg Genius saves every cook. I can go back and see exactly how a particular piece of meat cooked the last time, including saving my notes from the cook. I use that history and the notes to plan the next cook. Super helpful.

New app crashes when connected to WiFi
Now that the app has been updated to fix a error when a few people where crashing I am not able to connect to my grill anymore.

Instructions are top tier. Nicely done. Have not turned this baby on yet.
App update
Since this last app update my grill timberline 1300 won’t stay connected to the app. Very disappointed

So handy being able to control smoker with the app. Wish the temperature would show C and F.
App keeps freezing
App keeps freezing and won’t let me open any recipes. Never use to do this. I deleted and re installed couple times. Same thing happens. Disappointed because I like a lot of the recipes
Frustrating experience!
Wi-Fi feature needs a lot of work. Spent hours over several days trying to get a connection. If you’re not knowledgeable on wireless networks, good luck. What a frustrating experience. Also, Traeger maybe in the next design, don’t hide the wifi antenna in a steel box?
1300 timberline
Had it about a year. Have had lots of issues. Been on phone or text with repair for 10 plus hours. Replaced burn pot and controller. Still same issue. Just had five briskets on for a wedding of 150 and it let me down. Had to move it to other smokers mid cook. Waste of time.
