  • Too much info request

If I could get in and see what the app was about, check it out, maybe try some before giving you enough info that you could steal my identity or hack into things I would have liked it. Until then I won't even be trying it. You may be doing it to look out for clients but photographers should also look out for themselves.

  • You're asking too much in advance

In theory this a really great opportunity to differentiate yourself from the pool of "photographers" out there already that are increasing in number with every birthday gift of a DSLR set to "auto" and low-balling their prices to embarrassing levels. However, Photo Sesh please recognize that asking for all our information like this upfront (Social? Physical location?) is not appropriate and doesn't evoke a sense of security with your efforts. Real companies (not sole proprietorships) have EIN numbers anyway so you why are you not giving us that option? Also to JenniferRobots point if you're reaching out to us it's because you've seen we do stellar work and have well established sites and client lists. I would like to work with you but this would have to change before I can connect with your efforts.

    Developer Response

Thanks for your initial interest in joining the PhotoSesh network as a freelancer. We understand your concern, but please know we are required by the IRS to gather W-9 information if you want to apply as an independent contractor. We ask for just the last 4 digits. As a photographer on our platform you get compensated through our payment processor Braintree (a PayPal company) via your unique & secure sub-merchant account. This requires us to issue 1099's to qualified earners and because of this, the IRS requires that we ask for the proper information. Please also know that all applicants must agree to a background check. On that note, if you're just trying to learn about our platform before you apply, please consider visiting our website at www.photosesh.com or check out the other PhotoSesh app for customers: "PhotoSesh: Find Affordable Photographers Easily" Hope this information was helpful. Wishing you much success! Joseph : )
  • Seriously, $30/ hour regardless of location?!?

With perpetual commercial license use for all pictures taken, this is an insult to professional photographers who are trying to make a living out of this profession.
  • Seems like a scam

I'm being asked for the last 4 digits of my ss# and my birthdate, legal address, etc all for the purposes of a "background check." I am just really not sure about this. I don't and won't work for anyone. I really don't think all of this is necessary to protect their customers if they are really a legitimate business. Their customers are smart enough to check out the photogs website before booking, I'm sure!

  • App

Seems user-friendly.. Was very easy to sign up.. Can't wait for the official launch for customers!
  • It didn't work

It asked for my SSN in order to sign in... I didn't like that... But once I finally sign in the app just took me to the page to select the type of photo I wanted to do and then suddenly it shut down. When I tried to log again my email wouldn't work and my password and I had no email of confirmation. So I simply couldn't use it. I got the app link by email

  • SSN?

Are you kidding? You don't ask for a Social security #. This app has all the makings of identity theft !!!!
