Version 2.0 doesn’t work

I just upgraded to version 2.0 today and this version doesn’t work. I can’t control my system with “in home” or “out of home”. Old version on my other device that has not upgraded still works and this worked before the upgrade. Please contact me for details.

Mauvaise application

Like using an abacus to do math

It gets the job done. Slowly. When it works. The app has apparently not been significantly updated in years and has not aged well. Do not expect it to be anywhere near as user-friendly as Nest and you will not be too disappointed.

Almost Useless

Had I known this was the app needed to control our Daikin mini-splits, I would have searched for another brand. If you want to set up a schedule, you are forced to include Sunday because you can't uncheck it. A basic programming error that has apparently been around for years because the app has never been updated.

Oh, you want vacation mode? Yeah, you'd think that would let you, say, set a different temperature, wouldn't you? Nope. It just shuts all your units off. Stupid.

This app was obviously the bare minimum the company had to do to say the had an app. If their hardware was as bad as their app, they'd be out of business. Someone needs fired over this embarrassment.

Application

J’avais l’intention d’acheter le module Wifi pour ma thermopompe mais d’après les commentaires et le manque de mise à jour sa me semble pas être un bon investissement

useless buggy 4 years since last update

Well, I thought the brand new Daikin mini split already installed at my new house I just bought was pretty nice. (Especially when I learned I could add a WiFi option for app control). Boy was I wrong. This outdated black bar short screen app is useless buggy just logging in. It’s been 4 years since the last update shows copyright 2016?? I’m replacing the whole system with Samsung Whisper mini split that has a solid smart things app for reliable HVAC smart phone control. Bye bye Daikin.

Are the developers listening?

Where are all the developers who made this software?
With all the complaints/feedback listed as well as “Copyright Daikin 2016” means they haven’t updated the license, feedback, or bug issues....
list of issues.
Listen to customer feedback
Fix security flaws
Smart homes are now a leading innovation - thus in order for Daikin to keep up with the industry they need to update their app, have their software work with/be compatible with Apple home and Google. Work with Nest smart thermostat.
Make the app easier to use.
With this said; I hope Daikin fixes the issue soon.

Bad App, Truly Awful Support

If you want to control your head units via a mobile app, and your network is mostly “standard”, this app will likely work. BUT, the security of the app (and entire system as a whole) is incredibly poor due to unsecured endpoints (some including user credentialed) and its tendency to phone home. It also will not work if your head units are on a different subnet than the device you're attempting to use to control them.

I reached out to support for help with the subnet issue and was told that they do not work with homeowners, and to contact an HVAC contractor. Seeing as this is in the application and networking domain, an HVAC contractor will not be very useful.

If you’re hinging your decision on Daikin based on having up to date software and keeping your security in mind, I would recommend you look elsewhere for your HVAC needs.

This is a useless app.

Why would a company spend so much energy on development of a nice mini split and use a 1970’s infrared control? Trying to maintain any semblance of modern system goes out the door when you have to be there to control the environmental conditions of your home. So the ac runs regardless of the temp called for, the “eye” sensor only backs it off a little bit. How can they get energy star approval with no real control system. 2019 and it’s controles at in the 70’s. Sad

Does anyone anywhere get all the manual features?

This an update I only get very basic control options.
Please let me know my model number I isa series 19..
No comfort, powerful or power saving mode
Or selection of any fan speed as per the app manual.
I am a series 19 my remote has all the options, my app has none these options

I am looking forward where diakin shares what works with all target devices

This free app with an expensive install cost only provides very basic unit control.
You can look at the app user manual and see wonderful access options that are not there.
Scheduling works but is like using a club and a rock.
All other user comments are valid.
This app only works out of home if you are in range of your home Wi-Fi.
Outside of that it does not work.
