Lightbox Trace User Reviews

Exactly what I was looking for

This is an excellent app. You can use it as a light box and you can also easily trace pictures from your device. It is an indispensable tool for artists, especially artists using traditional mediums. The only thing that is confusing to me is that I can't figure out how to get back to the main menu after locking an image. I end up having to forcefully quit the app for this reason.

Good app

I gave it four stars because it's just what I need but could you add a lock button so when I'm tracing so the picture doesn't move around.

Works well, but a little buggy.

I have been using my iPad as a light box for a while now, as it was a cheaper alternative to actually buying one. But before using this app I just used a white background in my pictures. Which if you have tried doing that, it can get very tedious, as you are constantly switching between apps, or pictures while trying to copy a sketch; from your sketchbook. But with this app it just stays on the same white screen, which allows you to stay focused on what you are actually trying to copy. All that being said there are a few little bugs here and there. If I place more the three fingers at once on the screen for support, the brightness on the iPad will darken expediently. I have also found that the picture import doesn't seem to function, I have tried it on a few occasions to copy drawings, but it hasn't worked. The last bug I found was, when you exit out of the app via the home button the screens brightness will go down. I have automatic brightness turned off on my iPad, at all times so I know it isn't what is causing the problem. But when all is said and done, this is a good app that is also a great help to an artist like me, who doesn't want to fork out more money for a light box, when I have an iPad sitting on my desk that has the capability to do exactly the same thing.
