  • Complete rip-off

Don’t, don’t, don’t buy coins. Even if you’re a champion of the world, they gonna take your money from you. Million percent. Another thing, I don’t understand how the rating is 4.4 when if you look the reviews they’re mostly one or two stars and few five or four stars. Total cheating, don’t play this so called backgammon, it’s just the name, has nothing to do with real backgammon. Six games lost in the row, there is a robot on the other side who will win you no matter what. First it will let you win, and then it’ll start collecting your money. Whoever created this app , you should be ashamed of yourself, ruining such a wonderful game. Wish you all the worst. 15 games lost in the raw after developers responded to me saying it’s honest game. Complete cheating. Nobody can win me 15 games in the row. They got my another $3.99. Wish you bad digestion. They cheat on points as well, I had 6000 + points, played 1000, i doubled, robot doubled as well, I lost, so I should’ve left with 2000+ points, the app took all the points, making me 0 points. Why you guys do this.

  • Totally rigged game

There are many backgammon games out there that are not so obviously rigged as this one…try those first. This game is nice in that you can play different people around the world, but there is nothing random about the dice. For example, 9 out of 10 double sixes will occur right after you get knocked up to the bar so you can’t use them. When it wants you to lose, for whatever reason, once you get hit and are up on the bar you will roll many many times and never get down…but your opponent will get down the first roll every time. It’s just too obvious.
When you open the game you often have to click through 6 or 7 ads of them begging for money. My guess is if you give them any you’re probably on their good list and will get the favorable rolls, if not, be prepared to get robbed. Plus, when you lose, you lose the full value of the game, but when you win, you only win 70% of the value of the game.

  • Crashing Issue

I can’t find a way to contact the developer so I’ll write a review and hope they see it. I was near the end of a game that I was obviously winning, with doubled stakes (it was a 60K game, so 120K coins at stake) and the game just randomly froze, not letting my turn end, even though I had already pressed “done.” For some reason the clock was still running, even though nothing else in the app was working, and it caused my time to run out, costing me the game. This is not the first time it has happened but it is the first time it cost me to lose 120K coins. If a developer sees this, please contact me. I want to know how I can get my 120K coins back since I would’ve won the game if it wasn’t for the app crashing. I’ve spent real money on this app and I understand things like this happen, but it would nice if an effort is made to make this right.

  • So So Disappointed

I’m new to playing online games and you have ruined the experience for me! I’ve played Backgammon all my life and your “can’t win against” AI players and there obviously perfect moves and their perfect profile pics...seriously you can do better! I can accept losses but only if played with integrity and real dice. I know, you have the most random algorithm, blah blah blah! Scrounging for your free coins and hoping for a big spin...is also ridiculously rigged! But most importantly, for your advertisers(who pay more than I do) should spend their dollars elsewhere! They should know you cut me off from watching their message (that they pay YOU for me to see) but I guess earning 250 coins per view is too compromising in your world...what a joke!

...I’ll play the rest of my coins and be on my way. So sad, I was hoping for a legit experience.

  • I’m done...

Tonight I had over a million chips and was playing the challenges. I have kept track and lost 9 out of 12 games and I’m a skilled player.

Lord of the board has gotten its last money from me. It is SO obvious that the algorithms are set up for them to make money. There’s a huge conflict of interest here and it’s gotten worse not better. After my last complaint I went on a winning streak. I am embarrassed by the amount of money I have invested in this game and while I’ve been out ahead many times. I’ve been bumped at the last minute with no dice rolls that allowed re-emerge. I rolled 10 times once never getting a 1. I don’t even think that’s possible. Good bye. If you want to be ripped off- enjoy this game.

  • The game would be fun if...

...the dice rolls were actually random and not almost always what the other player needs, whether to move his pieces or prevent you from moving yours. On occasion I’ve been “the other player,” getting rolls that let me slaughter my opponent. But mostly I’m the one being slaughtered, by a game that seems like it lets my opponent choose what it gets for rolls. I’ve read some of the developer’s replies, but truly random dice would give favorable rolls about 50% of the time. In reality it’s 10% to 20%. I have a suspicion that the more money you spend the better your rolls get, but I’m not wasting money to find out.

Responding to developer comments about the “random number generator” used by the dice. It’s NOT random, in most games the opponent gets the rolls he needs the majority of the time and I get the rolls my opponent needs me to get the majority of the time. I’ve played thousands of games, over that many games the win:loss ratio should be something approaching 50:50, not the 20-30% I’m seeing. Player skill has no bearing when the dice constantly force him into the worst possible positions and let his opponent take advantage of that.

Lord of the Board provides players from around the world with an authentic backgammon experience by randomly matching them with different opponents and using a random number generator (RNG) on our dice. Therefore each game’s result is unpredictable and depends solely on the luck of the dice and each players’ skills. Enjoy the game and feel free to contact us at any time🤩
  • Rolls not Random

I actually wrote a review a short time ago. After reading the other reviews, I decided to keep track of the dice rolls. They are anything but random. I kept track of how often I go first. 20 to 25% of the time is all. It should be about 50-50. I also kept track of perfect roles needed by the opponent. Statistically, it can’t happen with the frequency that it does.I also noticed that the bots within the game like to double as soon as they know they’ve got it won. Funny how after they use the double cube, the perfect rolls ensue. When you get bounced, you can have half the board open and it’ll take you seven or eight rolls to get back on. The set up of the game is awesome. The algorithm for the dice random rolls needs to be fixed. The opponent gets far too mini doubles. The odds are one in six that you get doubles. Your opponent will exceed those odds and you will fall far short. Before I submitted this review I decided to play three more games just to see what would happen. In all three games I was kicking the snot out of my opponent and they got three or more sets of doubles in their last five rolls on every game. Not possible

  • Scam Algorithms

I have it 2 stars becuz the graphics are great. However I’ve been playing Backgammon my whole life and the way this game has it set up I can now predict with almost 100% certainly what the next roll will be. Rarely(I I mean rarely) in my favor. Once you pay for any package they know they’ve gotcha and all of a sudden the odds are forever NOT in your favor. There are many other apps out there. Graphics may now be as nice but at least it plays fairly and the package prices are reasonable. Paying anything more $5-$10 for a package is theft - IMO.

Update: Company got back to me and quess what? They’re sticking by their game and claim everything is legit. This after I caught them reducing my points after a match I played. I really never paid attention but I decided to play a $150k match and started with 1.2M points. After the match (I did lose and had doubled my bet - so $300K total) ended I went from 1.2M to 434M!! What kind of math is that?!? I should have gone down to 900K. I contacted them and got nothing.
When I’ve played my remaining points I will be deleting this app.
    GREED IS UGLY!!!

  • BAD DICE ALGORITHM

I gave this a 2 star because the layout is top notch, however (at least for me) it is ruined by a “horrible” dice roll algorithm! In “real life” I’m a professional backgammon player. I’ve played (real life BG) so much over the years that I’ve grown accustomed to what dice will / will not oftentimes do. My issue with this game: while playing this game I’ll oftentimes have the board to where there is no likely way my opponent can win, then all of the sudden they’ll start rolling doubles, one roll after the next, while I’ll suddenly be rolling (I.e.) a 1 and a 2. Even in some cases I’ll have my pieces almost all boarded off then if they happen to hit one of my pieces when I have no moves- then I’ll suddenly start (automatically) rolling doubles! Summary, I’ve lost many games (that I should have won- was winning by a landslide) because the algorithm rolls doubles for my opponent. I’m to the point now that it’s so frustrating I’m ready to uninstall the game and rid my self of the stress. (And FYI- there was one game in which I rolled doubles about 5 times in a row. I resigned the game and let my opponent my win, because I didn’t want to win because of a crazy algorithm.)

  • THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY

DO NOT SPEND A PENNY ON THIS GAME. GETS ONE STAR BECAUSE I COULDN’T GIVE IT 0. This game is absolute garbage. You’ll win 10 in a row and then lose 10 in a row. This game is just a money grab. They try to get you hooked by winning 3-4 in a row, then you’ll lose a 5 in a row and lose all of your $ to play, forcing you to either buy coins to play, wait hours for a small bonus to play one game, or watch adds to gain a small amount to play, usually having to watch 2-4 minutes of ads to get enough to play one game. Bad business model, not fun to play. The main problem with this game is the dice rolls. It’s one thing to just be unlucky when rolling the dice, it’s another for your opponent to get the exact rolls they need, multiple rolls in a row, multiple times during a game, multiple games in a row. I’ve played multiple games where I get shelved, and they have only one of two spaces covered, and it takes 6-10 rolls to get the piece back on the board, which is basically statistically impossible. This game is as bad as it gets when it comes to fixed games. If you are just trying to waist time, and don’t care about playing real backgammon, this is the game for you! If you like playing competitive backgammon, that is based on skill and knowledge of the game, STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME.
