Reviews of BimmerCode for BMW and MINI

  • Huge waste of money

This app and BimmerLink were some of the best and most reviewed apps for coding and handling errors on your car but it has now gone to complete trash.

Both applications are useless since they no longer work with an OBD II adapters. I purchased 2 of the recommended adapters ( icar pro and Veepeak) but after less then two minutes of use it disconnects you and boots you out of the app. For BimmerLink your able to see simple diagnostics such as battery, coolant temp etc. but when you go to use the app what it’s for to check the ecu for errors it simple loads to 75% then kicks you out.

For BimmerCode you don’t even make it into the app and it gets 14% of the way and then kicks you out. Sad to see what was know as a staple in the bimmer community go to complete trash.

I also had my ECU checked at dealership to make sure it wasn’t an issue on my end and I contacted the support team who said updates would be out in 2 weeks. That was almost 2 months ago and any follow up messages to support are met with silence.

I can describe how truly annoying it is. The developers have allowed their apps to become a expensive embarrassment that they have offered $0 refund for.

I should’ve went with the more expensive Carly app rather then deal with this waste.
  • Some issues but great customer support.

I have a 2018 G30. Downloaded Bimmercode and had access to almost everything but the app couldn’t read my headunit. I put a support ticket in and they responded pretty quickly with a Beta version to try via TestFlight. Worked like a charm and I suspect the bug will be fixed with the next version release. Great app but was really impressed with their support.
  • Love this app

Not only is it nice that the demo version allows you to explore the capabilities you have at your fingertips once you connect to your car, but once you’ve made the $40 purchase you can make all sorts of changes to your vehicle.
My iPad would not identify my Bluetooth OBD unit, but BimmerCode still found it and connected flawlessly.
This is a well thought out app and I recommend it is part of the toolkit of every BMW car owner.
