  • Great for remote raids

Have only been using the app a short time but I’ve already won multiple 5star raids so far.
  • Newbie opinions

Effective, but not completely clear to a newbie - ended up googling how to use this thing twice. I’ve gotten the gist, though, and it’s effective! Giving the keyboard that much access did freak me out though. Could maybe add a few more just-for-fun options to the namer (I want to track my tinies quick and easy) but they’re no big deal. Bit more frustrating that when doing screenshots there’s no easy way to just merge the one with moves and the one with the appraisal, or if there is it’s not obvious.
Still, have now determined better my Pokémon quality!

  • SO HELPFUL

This app has been a huge help in playing PoGo. Before I had pokeGenie I really had no clue what I was doing and I was spending loads of time researching each Pokémon I caught. Thanks to this app I don't have to do that anymore. It's super easy to load screenshots onto the app. I thought it would be confusing having so many screenshots to know which ones I have loaded or not, but the app helps with that as well by not showing any screenshots that have been previously loaded. The app is also helpful in finding remote raids for the specific Pokemon who are currently raiding from, I think, anywhere in the world? (Don't quote me on that). I haven't used this service but it sounds lovely; especially when there is a task telling you to raid and you don't live near a gym.
Overall I have zero complaints regarding this app and only wish I had found it sooner!

  • Good, but also frustrating

It’s a good app, works how it should. Gives you so much info and makes it super easy to compare IV’s and such. However something needs to change in the way of raids. There are just too many people that send friend requests and then don’t join in on raids. There needs to be harsher punishments. Maybe if damage verification was actually required, and had to be an even higher percentage than like 25%. That way if 2, or even 3 people didn’t join, it would still be possible. People use their passes on these raids. Only to fail as others just don’t join for no good reason. It’s such a waste of time and coins. Or when they do join, but don’t actually battle. I’m not sure exactly how/if anything can be done about that though. But both have happened many times in my experience. Which is why I’ll never join a 5 star raid again. Will only ever host, with a friend or two in person to help as well.

  • Essential App

Anyone playing Pokémon go would find this app very useful not only for appraisals but for raiding as well. Highly recommended.
  • Necessary for Pokemon players

This is 100% a must have if you play Pokemon Go and has really been a game changer for me. I didn’t really play other pokemon games and didn’t have a great understanding of the type effectiveness battle mechanics but this makes it really easy - it’s so nice to go into a raid knowing exactly which of my pokemon are the best to use, and to be able to play around testing different moves to see where it’s worth using TMs to try to boost my damage.

It’s also absolutely amazing if you don’t have a lot of people to play with in person or live somewhere without a lot of players - it’s super easy to join remote raids, and equally easy to HOST remotely raids (so you help out folks who aren’t near a raid AND don’t have to buy a remote pass, win win). I’ve been able to do so many raids I wouldn’t have been able to on my own because I’m new and not strong enough to solo anything about tier 1.

  • incredible

i love this app, especially as I don’t have many local friends to play/raid with. from IV calculations, to move set suggestions, to suggested names for quick recognition of pokémon, and especially especially the remote raid system, it’s nearly perfect. a couple things i’d love to see added - raid host gym team/color identification (and raid matching optimization around that for the same team bonus ball boost), and if the app could automatically id whether a raid is weather-boosted and an option to match prioritizing (or de-prioritizing) weather boosted raids. most frustrating thing for me is raiding a legendary with weather boost, bc for some reason my non-weather boost legendary catch rate is 100%, but weather boosted legendaries, i’m lucky to catch ~5% of them, and i hate wasting remote passes, golden razz, and money on what’s nearly impossible to catch (despite golden razz and near-perfect consistency great/excellent throws every time). and if the matching could prioritize by gym color, i might be fine trying more weather boosted legendaries with the ball bonus, but without knowing gym color, i’d love to avoid weather boosted whenever possible.

  • Great app, but…

Hands down I love this app, it’s helped me participate in raids all over when there’s none going on around me, and helped me host raids when none of my friends have remote passes. For the most part it’s a really great system, but I think there needs to be changes. I highly disagree with the fact that lower level players can join legendary and 5 star raids. Like do you really think a level 18 hopping in to a team of 6 is going to do anything to help the others? Absolutely not. It’s a huge waste of time when a level 18 or even lower hops in to an in game lobby and ends up being the reason the raid isn’t completed, because their damage contribution is horrible in comparison. I understand everybody has to start somewhere, so in that case, start in your own town, in a raid that has a lot of people in the que already rather than wasting peoples time trying to get in on a limited team of 6 just so you can try and get a cool raid legendary. Next, make sure you’re name and level are both the exact same on the app as in game, it’s very confusing and irritating trying to invite people to raids when their app name is different from their in game name. There should definitely be more punishment for having incorrect names. All in all I would recommend getting this app for raiding, but I would also advise you don’t participate in the 5 star or legendary raids if you aren’t a competent level.

    1. Level18 trainers are not allowed to join legendary raids. Whenever you see a guest whose in-game level is lower than in Poke Genie, you can tap on the name to report this discrepancy. 2. You can verify your Damage Contribution to improve the quality of trainers matched to you. Simply tap the "i" beside the damage contribution % under the Legendary raid boss (in the raid list screen), then proceed as instructed.
  • Awesome!

Works great in the sense that you are able to easily join onto raids with a waiting list which is fine, I like how it offers other things like battle simulators and name generation for Pokémon, being able to scan in Pokémon and see what your best counters are is awesome makes battling that much easier don’t have to think so much!

Only thing it’s missing for me is smith scrolling on the app I found that the app lags a fair bit when trying to select, or scroll I know it’s not my phone because everything else is working fine so if maybe this could be looked into that would be the best!

That's quite unusual. What's the model of your phone? How many scans do you have? Poke Genie even has ProMotion enabled, making scrolling on iPhone 13 pro max super smooth.
  • Surprisingly free??!

This app is awesome, I’ve been putting off making a review but, since I’ve downloaded it I’ve gotten so many types of ‘mons that I had no access to previously. I love the system where you scan your Pokémon in, I’ve been using the free version but am seriously considering buying the ivision just to make it even easier. Even on the free version if you scan your ‘moms in it will give you the best team possible for a raid and all you have to do is copy it to your clipboard and paste it into Pokémon go when you’re choosing your team. Which really helps because I space out on type matching a LOT. The fact that this is free and the ads aren’t even invasive amazes me, I’ve only ever seen a small banner at the bottom. Every other raid app has a paywall for everything! Even getting in a queue, you have to pay in the other apps. I am so glad my friend introduced me to this app. The longest I’ve had to wait in a queue was 4 hours, BUT, that was only because they had just added that raid the same day. I would have never caught a Dialga without this app and definitely recommend this app to everyone regardless of if you’d pay for the extras or not. They still add new raids to this day so there’s always something new to catch if you keep checking in every once in a while
