  • Great app. One request

This has been a game changer with allowing me to complete more raids than I ever have been. I live in a rural area so joining 5 star raids with a big group is a rare event around here. If I didn’t have this app, then I would probably only have about 5 legendaries, while now I have almost every one.

My one request is that you give the host of a raid the ability to select how many new invites are needed when hosting a raid. In the game we’re maxed out at being able to invite 5 remote players to join a raid and PokeGenie auto selects those 5 for me. I have some nephews that don’t live near me and want to do legendary raids with me remotely. If I could have the ability to tell PokeGenie how many remote players to auto select for me, then I would have the ability to remote my family in as well. I’ve tried helping them use PokeGenie to do raids, but they are very young and aren’t fast enough to cycle between the apps to join raids. I understand that you want to cycle through as many players in the raid lobby as quickly as possible, so maybe you could limit the host to choosing between 4 and 5 invites needed, and only on raids that don’t require the 20 percent damage threshold? That way the host also has the option to invite one person they know to the raid as well.

  • Revised opinion - up from ⭐️, down from ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was quite aggravated at the new requirement of meeting a minimum damage contribution for certain raids until I finally figured out how to set my MOVESET for my Pokémon. It was confusing because some of my Pokémon already had it set, but most didn’t.

I had been trying to upgrade Pokémon to meet the recommended criteria without it making a difference to my contribution before I figured it out. To add to MOVESET, you have to click each of your Pokémon, hit the three dots in the top right corner, select MOVESET, add in the appropriate Charge Move (most of the time the Quick Move is already there), and then save.

Doing so jumped me up from 19.7% contribution for Gengar(M) to 27.8%. That’s where I thought I should have been.

Not sure if they have figured out the issue with raid hosts getting penalized for a raid lobby not becoming active in Poke Genie until after the actual raid in Pokémon Go has ended. That happened to me twice the day after the last update. I know the screen shot hosts have to upload to show which raid they are doing has the amount of time left, but I don’t know if there is an easy way to incorporate that into Poke Genie to avoid lobbies being activated for raids that no longer exist.

  • When it works, it’s amazing

I like this app a decent amount, when it works. I’ve been able to capture a few 5* raids I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to complete (I don’t know anyone else near me who also plays Pokémon Go, so it’s my only opportunity to complete higher level raids).

However, the notification system when not in the Poke Genie app I tself only works 75-ish % of the time. Sometimes I successfully get a notification that a raid I queued up for is available and to come bank to the app to get the name of the host so I can send him/her a friend request. The other 15%-20% of the time I receive no notifications, and when I happen to go into the app it says something to the effect of ‘you were notified but didn’t show up in time so the spot went to someone else’ and I need to get in the line again and wait even longer.

I still recommend the app, just be aware that it’s not perfect and doesn’t always work correctly. You may need to requeue yourself multiple times for some raids

  • AMAZING but missing 1 basic feature

I have been using this app for several years and it is by far the best companion app that stays up to date for Pokemon Go. I love all of the features and the money to upgrade is 100% worth it. The remote raid feature is 💯🔥 and one of my favorite features they have added. I love that they are continuously adding new features and evolve with PoGo.

But I feel it is lacking a basic feature (and not just this particular app but all similar apps). The ability to keep track of shiny, lucky and event Pokemon is desperately needed. I am a big trader of shiny & event Pokemon and having a simple checklist or other management tracker of what I have, what I’m willing to trade and what I need would be a HUGE game changer!

If Pokegenie can add in a shiny, lucky and event tracking feature it will 100% be a 5 star rating from me!

  • Made PoGo fun again

App is brilliant allows rural player like me to not be hindered for living out of the way. The battle contribution addition is great! It means unless someone is AFK, your guaranteed a raid win which I really find useful. Thanks Pokie genie team!
  • Battle contribution

This poke genie is an easy 5 star if they had not added the new battle contribution feature. Before they added this feature I never lost a raid but when they did add this feature I am about 3% away from being able to battle strong Pokémon. I think they should remove this feature as the app used to be soo useful but know it’s not as good. I understand the reasons for it but please take this review into account.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, DeoxysD is so difficult that each percent of damage matters. You can HOST instead of joining it. There's no requirement for hosting. That's why all 5 guests must contribute 20% each. The damage contribution requirement has been highly effective for maintaining high success rates for 6-trainer lobbies in Poke Genie. Losing raid passes would be worse. If you're willing to power up and TM your team to reach 20%, please send a screenshot of your damage contribution screen, and I can help you optimize.
  • Raid System

The raid system they have set up is amazing, but their new update they did to it really limited people for 5 star and mega raids. I am referring to the damage percentage. I don’t like how even if you are at 19% of the damage you don’t even get the chase to join those raids. My friends are not happy about it either.

Don’t get me wrong I understand what they did and how it balances the raids, but you aren’t given any slack.

The damage requirement is to ensure high success rates, due to the extreme difficult of DeoxysD. Please further improve your team by powering up and using TMs. At 19%, you are quite close. Alternatively, you can host a Deoxys raid, since there's no requirement for the host. Since the host doesn't need to meet the requirement and verify the team, the 5 guests must demonstrate 20% damage, otherwise the raid may fail.
  • Great App hope the creators see this!

I really love the app it’s fantastic, with that being said I have a suggestion that I feel would be beneficial for most players. The raids should be divided into tiers based on your level in the game. It’s only fair for the players like me who are level 40 or above and carry a raid time after time again just to have the players who are level 20 or below run through their 6 Pokémon and then not return just to leave me trying to finish the raid only to loose not only the raid but my pass. It’s incredibly frustrating and still I use your app and play but it would cost me less money to play if I could have similar players within the same range level playing. The app is absolutely a life saver helpful and adding raids on has truly made things easier than discord but lacks in the part where I can’t choose who I can raid and not raid with. Hopefully this review gets seen and you maybe work on something like a tier system to make it fair not only for the raid but for my wallet. Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. In the latest version, Poke Genie v7.4, the Battle Simulator is now well-integrated with the Raid system. Please use it to optimize your teams, so that in the future, even with fewer trainers, the group can comfortably beat the boss. In the future, guests will be required to meet the damage contribution threshold for certain raid bosses.
  • Remote raid invites

The remote raid invite option is one of the best features i use it a lot and it’s saving me time waiting for others to help with raids highly recommend this app
  • Great for players who can’t seem to find their local scene.

I stopped playing for a few years and I’m so glad I can just jump right back in. I moved cities and had no one to play with (from rural to urban, funnily enough) I’m surrounded by gyms, live next to a gym, at peak raid hour there’s 12 going that I can reach on my couch. But I had left all my raid buddies in nowhere pennsyltucky! And they don’t want to use remote passes, so I stared at the Regis and Megas, irritatedly not being able to do anything about them — until someone mentioned this app. I held a bunch of raids yesterday and got gifts from all over the world afterwards! I’ve got a nice little post card collection going now and I can’t wait to host more raids from my desk. I miss having a close knit, in-person group, but this is also pretty great. The IV checker is also a life saver for when I don’t want to plug everything in manually.
