  • Great App: When it works

This is a fantastic app to get raid lobbies together but as I’ve seen from other reviews, the glaring problem is other players. 90% of the time you either won’t get invited to the raid you spent hours waiting for, the others wont join so you won’t have enough people to actually complete it or sometimes the pokemon won’t even be the one you queued for which all of this results in losing time and sometimes a remote raid pass which can be hard to get in the first place.
I had emailed support once about the problem after waiting a literal entire day to join a raid and then not even being invited to which I was told he can’t do anything and bans do happen if you keep saying you didn’t get invited, and while I do feel bad as I learned that the app is managed by 1 person I feel there should at least be an option to report specific players such as the ones who screw over the rest of the group.
Don’t let this or any other reviews like this steer you away from this app though. As said, when it DOES work it’s a very good app. Especially for keeping track of IVs and moves. And I got most of my rare pokemon off of it. Just wish the community could be worked upon.

Poke Genie v7.7 now has additional reporting options for various situations, such as non-participation of certain guests. Regarding the particular issue about not receiving invitation, unfortunately no individual priority queue opportunity can be given without it being abused.
  • Decent App (Warning - Raid Pass Thievery)

This application allows for a more in-depth look at the information your would encounter, but not normally be able to visualize within the Pokémon Go game. Once you use this app, you are able to min-max your pokémon stats for best pvp and raid battle experiences. However, what the app never tells you about joining raids is how inconsistent other players are when joining and battling together in raids. Sometimes, people will not join the multi-hour long queue lobby because they fall asleep or get busy with other things. Other times, your lobby fills up with barely enough players to complete a raid, but some get cold feet and lose faith in the other players’ ability to complete the raid, resulting in a loss of raid passes. The game also sometimes allows hosting of raids after the allowed time for that pokémon’s availability, resulting in a solo raid. The matchmaking is unreliable, and if you stick with mostly all other features besides the raids, you should not have a poor experience while using this application. (This perspective is from a free-to-play standpoint, never putting a cent into either application.)

  • Good app

The app is great especially with the remote raid function. However the waiting time might be a bit long sometimes (depends on the individual Pokémon and how popular it is I guess) I have been waiting for 8 hours in line today and still got 180 people before me. Which sounds a bit frustrating
  • Great App in so many ways

I love so much about this app. The raid lobby party queuing and hosting is simple and effective. The team suggestions are great and I love that it has search strings built in.

IVision is mostly for what it does, except if you don’t want your Pokémon named some ridiculous set of characters you get lots of duplicates of the same ‘mon in your “My Pokémon” section and as a result, you will see the same Pokémon suggested multiple times in the raid counters suggestions when you are in a raid lobby.

My biggest suggestion would be a way for the host to “poke” or notify a person from a lobby that you hosted that they don’t have a matching in-game name for the search character strings to do an easy invite. I love hosting through the app and I wish we could contribute to telling people they need to sync their Poke Genie name with their in-game name. This is usually the greatest contributor to not getting invites out in a timely fashion. Having to hunt through tons of friends and guess at which one might have been the same name in the app is difficult and time consuming when seconds actually matter.

Reporting of misspelled names will be available in an upcoming update. In the meantime, please sort the friend list in ascending friendship, then look among the 0heart friends.
  • Problems with Raids

I’ve used this app for at least two years. I love the IV features and I also love the uncomplicated ability to raid through the app. During the most recent Go Fest, I was able to catch six new legendary Pokémon thanks to this app. Unfortunately, I have also had some issues with it. The re-entry queue is so useful when the host fails to invite you to the raid. However, occasionally the host will move onto the “raid invitation sent screen” but never actually sent the invitation. I’ve also joined lobbies with ten seconds left to spare and no one else there. In these instances, users then have to start again at the beginning. This is extremely frustrating during events involving long wait times. I hope that the app will find a way to remedy these situations. Otherwise, I love it!

  • Keyboard times out multiple times each time it is used

Very frustrating. I’ve sent three emails to the developer from within the app and in response to their own survey and haven’t heard back. I used to love this. All I use is the keyboard and renamer. I don’t like the screen recording, too resource-consuming.

The keyboard, which I did pay for, barely works now on my iOS. I click the Pokémon’s name, click the earth icon, and Poké Genie sort of… thinks about maybe loading for awhile. Then it blinks off and returns me to the main keyboard. Lather, rinse, repeat. It does this until the screencap times out. Actually sometimes it seems to do better with being told to go ahead and use the stale screencap at this point. It immediately proceeds, which makes me think it’s having some sort of problem detecting the screencap rather than with reading it.

I’ve deleted all my screencaps and records to clear memory and have even deleted and reinstalled the app, still the same problem. I need some help with this bug!

  • Great app!

I started playing Pokémon Go when it first came out because of my nephew. We spent summers on cycle rides playing and having fun. Battling and Raids were tough but he loved them. Then we discovered poke genie, discovering 100% IV’s and being able to determine the best Pokémon for battle was brilliant! We stopped playing for a couple of years but are back on it again this summer. Poke genie has just got better! It has now added the ability to host and join battles where before we struggled to find people to help us go up against the bosses. The app keeps coming up with useful things to help you enjoy the game. Worth the price, most definitely. Well done to all those who put this app together, it’s added to the fun now for years!!

  • Its the greatest!

If you are a nigelnofriends like myself, Poke Genie is the app to help you with your pokemon go journey, i have been in raid groups and tried to raid on Facebook, all useless, then i saw the raid pic on my pokie genie as i bought the app years ago to Iv my pokemon, and that in itself is brilliant!, but i have just finished 133 raids with pokie genie and mostly tier 5 raids and i amazed at how easy it is to use and now i never miss out on the new raid bosses, the app is affordable, easy to work out and very very reliable , i cant praise this app enough, if you love your pokemon game and want to raid, this is the app, for all pokemon go trainers👌

  • Good - if you only have one player ID

I have an alt that I started before I knew about the raiding apps. He's up to Level 30 now. Poke Genie allows me to sign in/out my two characters, but does not backup/restore the Pokemon separately. So, if I use iVision to scan 433 Pokes for my primary ID (Level 41), then sign her out on Poke Genie, then sign in under my alt ID, all 433 still show up under "My Pokemon" for the other character. Saving/restoring don't help, as there's no option to save/restore Poke lists for different players, and each restore overwrites the existing database. This means I can meet the 20% damage threshold to enter raids with a character with Pokes that aren't actually in that character's inventory.

Also, echo what someone else said about allowing the raid host to specify the number of trainers needed. Some newbies might not know how to invite more than 5, so instructions would be good, but I've failed to win some raids because not enough trainers of a sufficient level were in them (Dialga yesterday, for example).

  • AMAZINGLY HELPFUL

okay okay, let’s break things down, this app is only helpful if you don't have very much friends to play with, OR, if you have a remote raid pass. let me explain. people on the app hosts raids and therefore require a raid pass to join them, or if you want to do a raid but don’t have friends to join you in it, then you can host a raid and therefore make friends instantly and get the help you need. all and all it’s extremely useful. you can also see what types are stronger for certain pokémon, and you can make your pokédex in the app. there’s a bunch more features in the app but those i feel like are the main parts. i don’t really write reviews, in fact this might be my first or second review i’ve ever written on an app before so you know it’s good. anyway, idk what else to say except for THIS APP IS EXTREMELY USEFUL!!!!
