Infinitely worse than keys but occasionally works
9/2/24 Update: downgrading to one star after being locked out yet again from my apartment building. I’ve reset my password multiple times and the FaceID doesn’t work either. If you are an apartment complex reading this, please don’t do this to your tenants.
Original post: The apartment I live at moved all tenants to this system and now requires this app to enter all rooms in the building, including my unit. I would give this app a 1.5 out of 5.0, which I’ve generously rounded up to 2. In short, the app usually takes 10-30 seconds to connect to the electronic locks. But it occasionally connects right away, so I bumped it up a star. Here’s what I want as a resident who needs this every day: 1. Add key to Apple wallet (or something that allows me to just tap my phone to the lock) 2. A way to favorite the doors I frequently use and to hide the ones I don’t. My building has 20+ community doors, so having to scroll and sift through tens of extraneous ones 3. Better integration with Shortcuts so I can create my own ways to streamline the unlocking process To be clear, this is bad enough that I want to break lease and move.Developer Response

GeoKey is an easy to use app that has greatly improved our condo security and made keyless entry very efficient. I’ve submitted questions and issues thru the app that have always been responded to immediately. I’ve had amazing attention and customer service from David Warneke resolving issues with resident and delivery driver cards not working. He has gone above and beyond to help get them added back and follows up to make sure all systems are good. He’s a pleasure to work with and I know he will make sure any issues are resolved. Not only do they expect you to have a smart phone to get access into your place, the app is constantly having issues. Me as well as many other tenants have been locked out of our apartments due to the issues with this app. It has caused many people that live in my apartment complex many issues. I was woken up at 5am to my neighbor banging on my patio door to be let in to the main entrance because of an issue with the app. Customer service was not able to help him in a timely manner and if he didn’t wake us up he would of not only been late for work but him and his dog would of been stuck out side until the clubhouse opened.
