Great Help / EDIT: EVEN GREATER HELP !!!

EDIT: I have come to rely on this app more and more as time has gone by. I am a disabled woman in NYC and it is sometimes difficult to find the easiest & fastest route somewhere. I never have a problem with this app. I love the widget and the alarm options to keep me on track. It easy to set your destination and see your options. The app shows where there are issues (NYC MYA has many) and the suggests different options to avoid the problems.

Another wonderful feature of this app is that they allow you to suggest new features for people to vote on. The developers then take it under consideration I suggested an option to slow down the walking time for people who are disabled or older and I suggested that the directions that include the NYC subway be marked as handicapped. I feel super excited to know that the developers will look at these suggestions and actually consider them. Most apps don’t even have a customer service department let alone one that listens!
I recently downloaded this app to try to navigate through New York Citty easier. This app has been very helpful for me and I am happy I have it!!!

Thanks so much for the kind feedback - we appreciate it!

NOT ACCURATE!

Been using this app for about 2 years now. It’s been inaccurate I would say half the time with arrivals/departures of trains and buses. One second it tells you that a bus is coming in 3 min and then all of a sudden, it isn’t. It also doesn’t always show all alternative forms of transportation. For example, I plugged in an address, it only showed me bus routes when I know there’s also a train stop near the destination. Also, the “Quick” option also doesn’t always show all the quickest routes. You get more accuracy with Google Maps!

Glitchy

I used to love this app. Lately half the subways have their arrival times in “gray” meaning it’s the proposed schedule and not the accurate schedule.

It’s such a bummer to race to the subway week after week only to have just missed a train or see it pulling off with out you when the timer says you have 3 minutes left.

I truly hope to app developers can rectify this. This app saved me a lot of time/kept me safe over the years and now I’m seeing that this may be the end of an era :(

Response from developer

Hi there - very weird. Sorry to hear that. If you contact us through the app with the name of the station that's showing gray arrival times we will check it out immediately.

Useful, but.. (TDLR-a gem with issues)

Here’s my gripe: why can’t you list the changes in every new update? Is that so hard? Either there are no new features (it’s been a while since I discovered any), or someone thinks it’s cute to leave users in the dark. Show some respect and I’ll be happy to give you a fair review UPDATE: I received a response from the developer promising informative release notes. That was unexpected and promising. That said, the best feature—a widget showing the next few departures—has been removed. I now must launch the app the see my next departures. A step backward. Fortunately, I found a better transit app. I’ll keep my eye on future developments, but I’m done for now. Sad.

UPDATE:

The developer has continued to be in touch. That’s a plus! The widget (the most useful feature for me) is back…somewhat. According to the developer, it’s no longer supported. At least there’s a workaround.

In my search for an alternative, I’ve discovered another app (a purple-clad clone of the original) by the same developer—Momego. It’s the same app, just purple instead of blue. Hmm… I am as confused as a bird in a cave. By the way, that app’s update release notes are informative.

I am provisionally upgrading my rating. If nothing else, being in touch with a user is always a big plus for me and makes up for any shortcomings.

Response from developer

Hi there, The old Favorites Stops widget can sometimes disappear - it's not officially supported any more. However, if you restart your iPhone it usually comes back. If you're still having issues, open the app and get in touch with us - we'd love to help.

😆

It either shows you where the bus or train is at or where it’s supposed to be. It’ll say “based on schedule” that’s where the bus or train is supposed to be but i don’t need the the schedule of where it’s gonna be, I NEED the exact spot at all times which this app fails to do.

Inaccurate

I was waiting for the q38 to pick my friend and I up and when it said “0 minutes” the bus was supposed to pick me up but instead the bus went straight by me without stopping and there were multiple people also waiting at the bus stop. The map is horrible because it doesn’t tell me which direction I’m going in and if it would tell me to go right I’d have to go north or straight instead which makes it confusing, i constantly have to look down at my phone as well which is dangerous when I cross big streets because it’s not like google maps where it tells you what direction to go in out loud. Transit app is way better than this

Separate subway and rails!!!

For some reason subway and railroads are on the same category when they are different modes of transportation with different prices. I can understand trains and subways being lump together, but you have to pay extra for railroad rides in nyc. Trains and subways you can use a metro card. Rails you have to pay either cash or card for the ticket. Whenever I have “subway/rails” excluded, it excludes ALL train rides. For obvious reasons, this gets super annoying. Even more so when google maps or Transit gives me a more faster route without the use of rails. Please fix this. Either lump trains and subways together or, better yet, separate subways and rails.

The best NYC subway and bus app

This app is the best NYC subway and bus app. Better than any competitors even those offered by the MTA. It's feature rich and thoughtful in it's design. It seems the developers actually use this app and understand the use cases that people may experience and designed around that. Fantastic job, really!!

Great for Tourists!

Stayed in NYC for a week and this really helped us experience and get around the subway transportation if it wasn’t for this i would be stuck in time square traffic all night!

Never lost in NY again.

My wife and I have never visited the city before, and might not have again If not for this App. No confusion and clear as day instructions. If your visiting the city and the subway is a fear, then use this app and relax!
