Not Recommended
The device had a lot of promise and was a pleasure to use in its initial iterations, but it appears the developer—Miggo—is out of business, so there’s no way the app can be updated. Each phone/camera upgrade requires new software to manage new hardware—additional dedicated lenses most notably—so the new iPhone capabilities aren’t recognized and the old hardware features on the Pictar device itself then no longer function as designed with new phone. Too bad—it was a great idea, but apparently just didn’t sell enough to keep going.Show lessBJonesSLP
Won’t focus…
It’s great that I can finally shot like I want to (almost) with the M mode. But. Using this app my camera won’t focus on a close subject… while I still can do it with the factory camera appdinarakhairova
Update Review for iPhone 14 pro Max iOS 17
This device had been in a box for the last 2 or 3 years… was going to put it on eBay despite the software not having support but I seen there was an update 5 months ago that addressed the connectivity of said device via ultra sonic communication it uses. It now functions to an extent but does tend to crash if you leave the app for whatever reason and come back …. You’ll have to restart the app again for it to function. Other than that I’m happy I can finally use the device I paid an arm and leg for… unfortunately the lens I have ( all 4… ) don’t have a need for as Apple has updated there cameras. Wish support came sooner but at least I can use the main device now.Show lessKSN7

Won’t connect to my phone. Found out it’s apparently Bluetooth but it doesn’t show up on my phone. Not even good as a paperweight.Aussiebooboo

Disappointing, Non Functional
I had high hopes for this to replace my DSLR when hiking, but it falls far short. The app locks my phone up, every time, regardless how many I’ve reinstalled. It’s unusable.Nature Lovin Geek
Pictar is just stupid
I have not useed the device for a while. And when I tried to download the app for some reason you have to scan some barcode before you can install it, well I threw the box away! I no longer have a barcode to scan so now I cannot use the Pictar app with the device. Just brilliant.I think this thing was like $100 for a little piece of plastic what a rip off!
