Works perfectly - love it!

I’ve used it all over the world, and it’s worked perfectly even on my ‘old’ Apple Watch 3… the new app upgrade is even better. I have it linked with Surfline which adds even more functionality.

Poor wave tracking

It’s a pretty app, but fails at its core function. It’s wave tracking is appalling.
For example shows that I’ve had a wave out to sea, gone left, right and the back to where i took off, but reality is no wave was actually caught at all.
Same with 3 different Apple Watch series.
Also confusing how when surfing it shows next tide sometimes and other times total wave ride time (not that I have ever heard somebody discuss how many total minutes that rose waves for that session 😆)
Great intent but doesn’t deliver core function.
I wouldn’t purchase a year subscription again

Almost really good

2022 > Still misses a lot of waves, some session don’t even record any waves at all. Freezes alot when starting unless stand still for a minute or two before u paddle our and press start. Would love some in depth analytics, right now is ok but not indepth. A yearly wrapped or something would be cool. Still a great app for surfing on the apple watch, but i think thats due to lack of any solid competition

2021 > Have found it misses ALOT of waves. Mark’s waves when I didn’t catch any (the map shows up waves where I wasn’t surfing). Bugs aside when it works. It’s pretty good. Being able to see boards x surfs is rad. But would love them to fix up the bugs.

Terrible App

Crashes on your watch constantly and the iPhone side of things isn’t any better. Please don’t expect this to improve your surfing

Terrible tracking and expensive

$30 for an app that doesn’t work. How many times the app doesn’t stop when you forget to be your session…why can’t it use the gps to tell you are in a car vs in the ocean? Never syncs up with the Surfline cameras for sessions and my top best 100 waves are all on streets instead of on the ocean. How an app designed for this can’t look at the info and determine a 1 mile wave on land… is indeed not a wave is beyond me. Misses waves non stop. Would pay $5 just to have the tide and swell aspect of the app, but $30 for less than ideal surf tracking is a rip off. Disappointed and flabbergasted by the fake positive reviews

Clunky

I want to provide some feedback on my experience with the watch app.

I find it very unintuitive on starting a session. I press everywhere on the face and nothing.

Ending a session is equally frustrating as the watch is wet and won’t respond. Sometimes it locks me out.

In between the app seems to hijack my watch and it won’t show the time except for a tiny display in the upper right corner whichI can’t see without my glasses.

It’s a very clunky app

Didn’t track my data at all

I was surfing for about 1 hour and I caught about 4 waves in this time all being for only a few seconds but didn’t count anything. 0 for every measure

Excellent app, but..

The app has been around for a while, still every now and then a surf session goes missing. Also, it records only one surf session at the time. If you go surfing twice and then try to upload your data, all will be gone. Maybe in the future they fix this; other than that 4.5 stars for me.

X

It would be good to have a social sharing function

Can’t surf without it now

Love knowing wave count and length of ride all on the Apple Watch. Just needs a Strava integration now 👊🏻
