  • Excellent app - Feature request

Two things would make this app amazing.
-the ability to control how color photos are converted to BW. Like you’d use a red or green filter with a color negative.
-the ability to control the transparency of the cut and patch mask Tools.
  • Need some info...

So this developer has another app that looks exactly the same that goes by the name Darkr. I am certain this has been asked plenty of times, but can someone please, in simple language, explain the differences between the two if there is any?
And if they are the same why not simply remove one of them from the App Store?

    Developer Response

Quick reply from the developer. I first made the other app (Analogue) as a paid app. But most of the users want to try before they buy. Apple have no way of converting a paid app to a free app + IAP without forcing the old users who already pay to pay again. And that's not fair. So, I had to create a new one and Darkr is the new one. They are the same, except for the purchase-model (Analogue is paid and Darkr i free + IAP). One isn't allowed to have names like 'Analogue Free' in the AppStore anymore so I came up with a new name. Darkr comes from the word 'Darkroom'. Whenever I update them, I always update them both with the same content. Naturally I cannot remove anyone of them since lots of users have paid for the apps and I want to continue to send updates to them. / Marcus - the developer
  • Joy

This app is a joy to use especially if you are using or have used a large format camera.
  • Great App

I only have the free version but every picture I’ve taken has come out really nice
  • Great app.

    Update -

After receiving the devs response, I am switching this to a full five stars! A quick look through previous updates shows how responsive he’s been with updating and replying to reviews, so I am sold!

    Original review -

I am really enjoying this app - purchased the full version and all, I really like the pictures that come out, and it’s a fun way to learn to edit as well. The only thing stopping this from getting a full five stars - I would love to see the implementation for use of the tele lens on the plus models, it would make this app even better for street photography.

    Developer Response

Actually that is a feature that I have implemented and will be available in the next release (in a week or two) :)
  • Very cool application

    Must have!
  • Wonderful app

This app to me is more useful than any other photography app on iOS, including vsco
  • Great editor, somewhat misleading

Perhaps I just misread the description or I was being stupid but I thought this app could scan my actual negatives and edit them. I will no longer have access to a dark room and was excited to see an app that could help me “develop” my remaining negatives. ((Wouldn’t that be amazing? Bypassing the whole printing process then scanning and editing the photos on/to a computer THEN saving them to the cloud to post on Instagram and other platforms?!))
Anyways, it’s a good app and I recommend it for pristine black and white photography. I however will probably not use it - I’m too let down to use this at the moment.

In the next version, you will be able to import scanned negatives from your camera-roll. Even if that's not entirely what you want it still is a move in the right direction :) Anyway, thanks for your review and maybe later on, I will add scanning.
  • As close to Manual mode as you can get!

This app is wonderful. It’s not a point & shoot process with tons of the same old filters. It’s a process of taking your time, framing your shot, and creating the image. Mocking dark room techniques, you can create beautiful black & white photographs from your phone.
  • Seems Good, But Repeatedly Demands Reviews

I’ve been playing with this app for 20-30 minutes total, and it has asked me for a review 3 times already. I’m leaving this just to make it stop, and I won’t reward their annoying intrusions with anything positive. Truth is I haven’t had enough time to form a decent opinion.
