  • Love this app :)

I’ve used the Jillian app for a while now and keep meaning to leave a review. What I love about this app is the ability to choose the majority of the moves you do, especially in the generator section which I use a lot at the moment. I’ve had a shoulder injury for about a year now meaning I’m unable to use weights so this app has been a dream and enabled me to work out at home. I did worry about the fact there are lots of planks and mountain climbers etc but I just adjust them by doing them standing up. I’d love to see some resistance band workouts on here although I do tend to incorporate those into my lower body workouts. Great app, would HIGHLY recommend :)

  • Great App

Love this app! Well worth the money
  • Motivating. Love the ‘Yeah Baby’ programme

I’m now 39 weeks pregnant and knew the hard work it took first time around to lose my baby weight and to feel like my body was healing and functioning.
I had a gruelling labour first time around so read up about how I can help move things along this time... Exercise!
I’ve loved following the ‘Yeah baby’ programme throughout my pregnancy. It’s been a tougher pregnancy this time around, but looking forward to 30 minutes of ‘me time’ four times a week has really kept me in check, and I’m more toned than when I first began.
Jillian is a great motivator and I’ve loved how simple this app is to use.
I’m looking forward to getting back to my Jillian fitness routine once baby 2 arrives and my body is ready.

  • This app does not disappoint...

I have always been a fan of Jillian and after trying numerous workout apps I took a chance on an annual subscription and do not regret it. I like a workout where I feel tired and like I accomplished something when I’m done and this does it for me. I can take my plan anywhere with me and do workout when I travel and the sessions are not super long so there is really no excuse to not get your workout done. I like the options for training programs, one off workouts and having my data saved between my iPhone and Apple Watch. You can use the apps music or your own playlists which gives you options. I like some of the recipes offered but using another plan at the moment. If I had any suggestions for future updates it would be to have to option to choose your rest day when starting a program and to be able to schedule my work out more than one day at a time.

  • Excellent workouts for the time starved

I’m currently working my way through Slim 60. The app is great and easy to use, giving you tailored workouts for each day and for different levels of fitness. There is more time given to stretching which is a great improvement on the classic Jillian Michaels DVDs. The HIIT workouts in Slim 60 are all under 30 mins and in true Jillian Michaels style they give you an intense workout in a short amount of time. Perfect for the time starved. The app also takes your feedback after each workout and modifies the next workout according. At least that’s what it says on the tin. Enjoy!

  • Got me loving exercise again

When I got this app I was low in confidence, mood and generally felt rubbish about myself. The workouts have changed my exercise habits unbelievably to the point where I now feel rubbish if I DONT exercise! Like I need it to keep my mind happy and I’ve lost weight and feel so much more confident in myself. I love the workouts so much and having Jillian do the moves along with you is great because you can’t do the moves wrong when you have the expert right there. I’ll be honest I don’t use the food part of the app but that’s ok because I’m still seeing great results from just the exercise and it’s helped me eat better anyway. I would recommend it and think that the premium is definitely worth the money. Give it a go for three months and see how you get on! I love it!

  • Very very good indeed

I’ve been using the app daily for three months now and I’ve seen a pleasing change in my physique. I was a massive fan of the 30 day shred but wasn’t able to do that every day as the same muscle groups were being trained with no rest. This app is designed to work different muscle groups in each session so you can literally work out every day which is perfect for getting yourself into a routine. There is always one rest day a week which I always look forward to but then I always feel like there is something missing that day! This leaves me especially fired up and for the next workout!!
I have marked it down just one star as there are a few tiny glitches where every now and then the next exercise is not verbally announced or the video is blurred out. This does not detract from the workout though. The four stars is mainly because although Jillian does give some audio advice on form and you can watch her performing the exercise, I would like to hear more of this to ensure I’m doing it correctly, using the correct muscles and protecting myself from injury.
I haven’t subscribed to any fitness apps before but this is well with the monthly cost and much cheaper than gym membership. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to workout at home.

  • The disappearing workout

I have been using the premium version of this app for over a year. I workout 7 days a week for at least 30 minutes. I use this app 3-4 times a week as a supplement to running and barre classes. Up until a few weeks ago I would have given this 5 stars. However, I updated to the latest version and am disappointed. My biggest beef is with the time of the workouts. When I start it will tell me that it is 25 minutes and 20 seconds. By the time I get to the cool down the time has decreased to 20 minutes. Even the 7 minute workouts decrease to 6 minutes. These are short workouts- losing 20% is not cool!! Where is the time going? Like I said I have used this for a year and this never happened until I updated! I track my workouts on my Apple Watch as well and the workouts are approximately 5 minutes shorter than they used to be. My two other minor issues are that it no longer gives a verbal cue when the interval is starting and it doesn’t give the 15 second time marker verbally anymore. I appreciate the verbal cues for the plank exercises where I am not staring at the TV. If these things would go back to how they were I would happily give a 5 star review. If they don’t get fixed I will be moving on to a new fitness app.

    Developer Response

Hi Katie! The workouts on built on the fly allowing you to swap or modify the session this in return may change the total time. We'd love to guide you through this along with any other concerns you may have. Contact us at help@jillianmichaels.com we look forward to assisting you. Thanks!
  • Needs big screen support

Workouts and format are great, but want to show on our big screen projector for our workouts.

There is no AirPlay support (to our Apple TV), no Apple TV app, and the screen mirroring is flaky. So I’m constantly fiddling with the app during our workout to keep it running. Would be a great experience if we could run it directly on our Apple TV.

  • A great workout

I love this app and really appreciate the helpful tips and great exercises. It is a little repetitive and now that I’ve moved up to the advanced level I’m not sure where I’ll go from here although the recent addition of the DVD workouts might solve that problem!
