It’s quite good but has its flaws.

Provided you do everything from the app you *should* be ok. I incorrectly believed it was getting data from the car but it doesn’t appear to be the case as I’ve done a number of super charge sessions that simply don’t appear.
I bought it really for the smart charge function which allows you to stop charging at a set time. Crazy really as it’s a something that should be in the car or Tesla app but isn’t.
Developer was good in terms of responsiveness but the battery data seems to be limited. Distance, controls, etc seem to work fine though.

Excellent App

Yes, it’s a bit pricy. But the insight you get into your Tesla is worth every penny. Some of the features are a bit outdated now with recent Tesla software updates (like location aware Sentry mode, for example). Despite some unused features, I find myself using this app way more than the native Tesla app. The Battery health chart, driving efficiency and Firmware histogram charts are my go to features.

Product support is top notch with extremely rapid response to questions or new feature requests. Just today I posted a question about a new feature suggestion on Twitter. Within about 20 minutes I had a response from the developer with an invite to test the next version in advance of release. Can’t beat that for service!

App wakes car approx every 30 mins

App should allow you to open the app without waking the car from sleep. Otherwise, every time you open the app, it wakes the car. There is also no documentation that I can find on how the app attempts to allow the car to sleep and since it wakes the car every time the app opens, I can’t verify when/if the car is sleeping with the app.

Update: I did some checking today and found the app ping’s the car approximately every 30 mins. This has a significantly negative impact on how much time my car sleeps (or doesn’t as the case may be). With the app, my car only spends 30 to 40% of the day sleeping. Without it, it’s usually more than 70%. This is because every time the app wakes the car, it takes about 15 mins for it to go back to sleep.

The developer needs to take a different approach and needs to be honest about this impact. Regular data api calls constantly wake the car.

The developer also needs to stop saying the app itself gives objective proof that it doesn’t affect phantom drain. Exactly how is that possible? If the app is running, then it’s impacting awake/sleep time so the very act of monitoring, is impacting sleep time phantom drain so it is objectively false to say the app itself proves the app does not impact phantom drain.

Waste of Money

App is exceptionally bad. Everything from executing schedule tasks like auto charging or heating car, to what a lot of people overlook with this app is the calculations. For example, if you look at cost savings the dev is using the estimated miles of the Tesla AND the estimated miles of the ICE. Makes no sense with ICE Cars average miles per gallon is VERY right on. So my previous car a Camaro V8 got 16 miles per gallon. So if I drive 32 miles it costs in NY like $6.50. These are not estimates these are concrete numbers. If I do the same mileage in the Tesla it should cost exactly what it cost to charge it back to what I set as a full charge. Instead he uses estimates. So if it costs $1 to recharge he is saying it costs like $2 dollars so the cost saving are totally wrong. As far as the other graphs they are pointless. Even the software version everyone is on. Who cares. After your first couple of software upgrades most of them are not that exciting. I mean they are great but nothing you need to check an app for constantly. The app that comes with the Tesla lacks one thing, scheduling. This app does it but it is spotty. Sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. DO NOT BUY APP TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. OFFERS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MORE THAN BASE APP.

Response from developer

If you have any issues with functions provided by the app or if you are interested in getting an explanation about how the calculation are made, tap on Support button in the app. You have stated that this app provides nothing more than the Tesla default app. Assuming that this is a real review and not a malicious one, I invite you to see the list of unique features that this app provides and is clearly missing form Tesla app.

A must have for all Tesla owners

This app is worth every cent. First of all the name is deceptively limiting as the app does way more than just summarising key stats of the car.

How I use the app
1. Widget to control the car is the best out there
2. Linking RFIDs to Siri tasks which activated lots of options with the car.
3. Smart sentry control
4. Reassuring comparative stats of driving efficiency, battery health and phantom drain.
5. And so much more.

The graphics are great and the support is very rapid.

If you have a Tesla then you need this app!

This app is so good!! Gives you heaps of useful and interesting info about your car, and the Apple Watch app is super convenient. I love showing off how I can start the car or open the frunk from my watch :)

Only one thing missing

Only improvement I need is start and stop charging schedule. Otherwise a must have app for Tesla owners and will be well worth the $30 with scheduled charging included. Keep up the good work.

Misses most of my charging sessions.

I have contacted the developer multiple times before leaving this review to be as fair as possible. The have been polite and tried to help.

The app is in the expensive range and ad such should work flawlessly. I paid $30 AUD for it.
The app will only record about a third of my charging sessions.
I have tried all the things the developer has suggested:

1) Plug in and remove the wand in one smooth action with no wiggling.

2) Unplug the wand within 6 hours after charging is complete. This is a restrictive action that should be worked around by the developer. In any case I have changed my behaviour to suit the developer and charge in the evening and unplugging before bedtime.

3) Use proximity unlocking, I do this anyway.

4) Try using the stats app to unlock the car. What an inconvenience. I tried this but it is still hit and miss.

5) The app settings are correct, location always and background refresh.

Being a developer myself I know I am not the problem.
The developer has said only a small percentage of people experience this but for $30, this needs to be looked into and fixed being one of the main reasons I bought the app.

Needs a little more

I love the app

My Pros are:

Graphs are simple and easy to read.

Siri Shortcuts work every single time.

Way more information than the Tesla app.

I like the fact that I can see how far I can get with good driving.

My cons are:
I wish the graphics could be updated to look semi close to what a Tesla owner would expect.

I wish I could see how many miles I have gone since last charge and get a trip break down. I see other apps doing that and I find that cool. Would help my range anxiety lol

I wish I could set my heat/ac and charge to turn on with my alarm clock.

I wish there were goal to hit for eMPG or weekly reports that the app would give you.

Many of my cons I can’t say for sure out weigh the good because this is the only app I have purchased. I hope the developer realizes that in order to compete with new apps and keep up with his 20 dollar asking price for the app he needs to do a graphics over haul really soon. It’s just so basic and not fun to look at. We are investing in new technology buying a Tesla, we don’t want an app that looks like it loads on a floppy disk.

Must have app for EV owners

I’ve had this app for about 18 months; as long as I’ve owned my EV. My initial desire was to monitor battery health given its replacement cost and it has met that objective very well. What I’ve really come to appreciate since then is the ability to see how my vehicle compares to other users who have this app. I find it useful to monitor efficiency and phantom drain rate relative to the larger data set to see how I’m doing and if anything unusual develops. EV technology is still fairly new and this app can alert you to a potential problem that you can then follow up with the OEM before the expiration of the warranty. If your wonder if the app is worth the price, ask yourself what an out-of-warranty repair might cost. For me, it’s a no brainer.
