  • 12/10, been using it for years

I’ve been using this app for close to 3 years now. The ability to mix and match sounds, and even import your own, AND control the volume of each track is amazing.

I made most of the music for my campaign, and being able to import it was invaluable to setting the theme for the whole campaign—having variations of the villain’s theme ready at the drop of a hat, while ominous thunder rolls in the background lowly, super cool.

Definitely one of the best purchases for GMs.

FEATURE REQUEST: One thing i would love (I have no idea how hard it is to implement) is to be able to save the volume levels when you save a scene. Sometimes, for example, the ambient noise is a bit loud and overshadows the music. It would be nice to save, the scene but have it so that the crowd sounds or whatever aren’t as much of a jumpscare.

  • Great customer service

I’ve had a great experience with this app so far and I’ve used it as a portable soundboard for several sessions of RPGs with my friends. Overall the user interface and controls are extremely user friendly and intuitive. I was about to easily load custom sounds on through my computer.
After the most recent update several of the custom sounds I was using started looping and I sent a email to customer support. They responded almost immediately with potential solutions and helped me troubleshoot the problem.

  • As a DM for 3 years

This is honestly one of the best apps I have ever used. Its easy to navigate and has most things that a Gm could want. I have been using the free version so a little under 2 years and recently decided I would buy the pro. It was very much worth the money. Multiple sounds and atmospheres is fantastic and the addition to add custom sounds is great though it is not that easy. The instructions could use some updating. Anyone who reads this I would highly recommend you use the free version for as long as you like and to see if you would like to invest. To the developers I would ask that you add some more battle sounds; wardrums, horns, and chants would be a great start.

  • Exceed expectations and still want more

It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better than I expected. It’s really nice that you can layer sounds and adjust their volume independent. The quick tap buttons for FXs is a great feature, but under developed imo. I would like to see customizable icons for each quick tap sound instead of just red buttons with tiny text for each and a way to bring up a whole screens worth of selected quick hits. … still, it’s great to have a continuous light rain, with some soft battle music and the sudden clash of sword on steel or swoosh at my finger tips.

  • Fantastic app if you buy PRO.

For a long time, I’d been using the sound board app called DMDJ. While a worthy app for its sounds, it’s interface was clunky and hard to work with. Plus, it hasn’t been updated in years and is likely no longer supported by its developers.

RPG Sounds: Fantasy has a superior interface to DMDJ and has an equally impressive pre-installed sound library. Plus, if you upgrade to PRO, you can install your own Custom sound library which is now sorted alphabetically and searchable.

Add to that the PRO features known as Scenes and you have the top soundboard app for RPGs available.

    It’s worth your money.

  • Perfect for what it is

This isn’t meant to be a perfect production tool. It’s meant to be a super user friendly, GMing tool and it does that immaculately. This has become my favorite GM app, and I literally use it every session. Cannot say enough about it.
  • Excellent user interface and costumer support.

Not only is this app design very friendly, it has an amazing array of sounds and options to make your campaign feel alive! I stand by the fact that having sounds and noises in your campaign can truly immerse your party and this app does it well. From literal “chest opening” sounds to “sword hitting armor”, it has it all and allows you to pre-plan a scene so you aren’t racing to find certain things! Lastly, you can add your own sounds and combine it all into audio story! 10/10

Additionally, I had an issue with my account and almost immediately got help with a very understanding staff member! Thanks Dan!

  • Awesome soundboard with one request

This soundboard is awesome! Pro is definitely worth getting. It has really added to the immersion aspect for our player group when we run DnD campaigns.

I do have one request- The one thing I feel that could make this app better would be making the quick access bar expandable or a page of its own… instead of scrolling from side to side to find the right SFX you could instead look at a page with the SFX tiles you added to the quick access menu and easily click them on the fly.

  • Buying Pro is worth it but…

Great app! Must buy if you’re playing D&D! Only gripe I have is I wish the devs would implement the ability to add the SFX to a “Scene.” Allowing Ambience and Music only, in a “Scene,” seems like a missed opportunity to make this a perfect app.
  • Missing something…

Playlist function needs the ability to let each song play and then start playing the next one instead of constantly looping one. Being able to set it to play all songs on the list in sequence would be a nice addition.
