Features ADIZ Overlay: Pilots can overlay Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) sectors on the Moving Map. Pilots can access detailed information on the specific areas of airspace such as its name, identifier, minimum altitude, maximum altitude, controlling agency, and frequencies. GeoPackage Support: Aero App supports User GeoPackages to display on the Moving Map. Pilots can easily sideload and view their customized geospatial data on their mobile devices. Features Hazard: The Hazard feature allows pilots to mark and identify potential dangers on the Moving Map. This feature enables pilots to drop hazards on the map to highlight areas that pose a threat and avoid them accordingly. Furthermore, Aero App includes a notification system that alerts pilots when their ownship intersects with the defined hazard ring. Photo Pin: The Photo Pin feature allows pilots to incorporate user-generated images on the Moving Map. This feature allows pilots to drop photo pins on the map, enabling them to mark locations and provide additional visual context to their flight. Fuel Check Calculator: The Fuel Check Calculator feature enables pilots to calculate the fuel burn usage of their ownship. Pilots can monitor fuel consumption and accurately estimate the fuel required for their flight. Home Field Setting: Aero App's Home Field Setting lets pilots set an ICAO as their default location on the Moving Map, providing quick access to their desired area. Zulu Time on Flight Information Panel: Aero App has enhanced its Flight Information Panel by adding Zulu Time, which provides pilots with always-current coordinated universal time (UTC). Enhancements Timer Alert: Aero App has enhanced the existing Timer feature by providing a notification system that alerts users once their timer ends. Pilots will receive notifications while their device is in use or while locked. In addition, Aero App has configured the Timer box to switch between green, yellow, orange, and red to indicate the time remaining on the timer. Version Highlights: Features Coverage and Line of Sight Orbit Altitudes: Aero App has enhanced the existing Orbit feature to provide Coverage and Line of Sight configurations. Coverage and Line of Sight altitudes inform pilots of the highest altitude for mountainous terrain and vertical obstructions. Multitasking: Aero App supports multitasking capabilities which allow pilots to interact with different apps simultaneously in Split View configuration. Pilots can easily complete tasks and switch between apps without interruption. Enhancements Moving Map Enhancement: Aero App has enhanced the Moving Map for improved performance and user experience. Version Highlights: • Drag and Drop: Pilots can drag any segment or point of their current route and drop it to their desired point. • Doghouses: Pilots can display Doghouses with real-time route information on the Moving Map. • Add Pins to Route: Aero App enables pilots to search pins by their unique identifier and directly add them to their current route. Pilots can also sideload/import pins to Aero App. • Preferred Routes: Aero App generates preferred routes when planning a route, allowing pilots to quickly choose more efficient routes. • GeoJSON Support: Aero App supports GeoJSON files. - New ADS-B Products & Transparency - Point Shapes: Pilots can add point shapes (triangles, squares, or circles) to the points in their route. - Arresting Gear: Aero App enables pilots to overlay worldwide Arresting Gear locations on the Moving Map. Tapping on an Arresting Gear icon displays a pop-up with relevant information. - Contextual Help: Pilots can view Contextual Help that provides concise feature information. Views that provide Contextual Help display an orange symbol in the top-right corner of that view. PDF Search: Pilots can search key terms on the body text of any PDF file within Aero App. The searched term will be highlighted in the current document. • Ownship Icon: Pilots can select their preferred ownship icon to display on the Moving Map. Pilots can select from P-3 (B737), Boeing C-17, A-10 Warthog, and many more. • AirDrop: Aero App can share AirDrop-compatible files such as maps, cycles, and additional files with another iPad. • Route Line Transparency: Aero App allows pilots to adjust their current route line transparency.
