  • Amazing!

Have been using for a few months now. The device is fantastic for easily turning over and tracking time during calls and the like, and keeping the software open on the desktop makes it easy to add a narrative as you go along.

Also very easy to add time later and edit on the windows app.

Biggest wish would be for it to work offline also, and not require a connection.

I have been time tracking for more than a decade and tried multiple new technologies and apps - so far this is by far the best. (Though I still wish the Outlook Journal app tracking wasn’t deprecated).

  • Great hardware, app needs a little work

Got my Timeular device today and had a good day recording activities, and the concept is great. One advantage of Timeular, for someone like me who faces many distractions is that the device keeps me on track reminding me to focus on one thing at a time.

I have found the app to be a little buggy, complaining about connectivity a lot though and that's a new distraction itself...

I'll revisit this review later after I've had more time to use it.

  • Good app for insights on where your time is going

The hardware is a bonus; the real value is in the ability to use categories, tags and mentions in the app to get insight into where my time is being spent.
  • App is very good! Timeular is very useful

I’m glad I did not purchase the device in the 1.0 days. This app is very functional and very useful and rather attractive. I tried before I bought and ... well I bought!

    Requests:
    * Don’t put the undo button right under where the save button is on an iPhone in vertical orientation. I have accidentally pressed there many times after trying to save something. Very frustrating.

    * Force-touch widget on app icon to see what’s active.

    * Specify which device should be Bluetooth host and whether it’s connected (I know BLE doesn’t really connect, but CAN it connect)

    Bugs:
    * My MacBook Pro and iPhone X to be next to each other, and it’s unclear which device will handle the Bluetooth. Sometimes they switch off, it seems. I have missed a few switches, possibly because of this, where one device wasn’t available.

  • Good idea poorly implemented

There’s too many annoying bugs and rough edges to mention here. But this is a really good idea if it worked. The last straw for me is now the tracker won’t connect to the app anymore and I can’t even forget/re-pair the device to see if that fixes it.

    Really disappointing.
  • Excellent tool

Using the paid version of this and can’t understand why there are negative reviews. The app works brilliantly and is highly intuitive, just take a little bit of time at the outset to think through how you want to record time categories and how you will relate those categories to hashtags and @mentions. All the information you need to work out which approach will work best for your workflow is there on the blog.

  • Would be great if it had a setting to restart timers.

You can't pause and restart timers. If you flip back and forth between multiple projects during the day, this will just create a cluttered mess of duplicate entries. Every time you flip to a "side," you get a new entry and a "blank" description. Co tin ing where you left off? Too bad. New entry with a blank description.

  • Do not buy right now

The idea is great. The tracker seems to work most of the time. Biggest frustration is that this app is cloud based. You can't access it if you have no connection. You can't even use the timer without a connection. You cant review your week metrics without a connection.

Minor inconvenience especially since I work on planes alot.

The big turn off is that the app is very buggy. I try to make changes to my hours/events but the app refuses to keep the changes and reverts back to whatever was in my activity before. This is super annoying if your tracker was bouncing around in the car and you forgot to turn it off, resulting in a bunch of false activities. Trying to erase them is a pain. I delete them but they keep coming back. Can't seem to fix it.

Tl;Dr Idea is great but execution is terrible. Do not buy.

  • Like other review say, great idea, dreadful app

Tried to use the app but it would not save activities with no indication as to why. With that degree of user-unfriendliness, it is only suitable for the trash.
  • Nice idea, poor hardware, awful app

I was given the Timeular timer as a gift. The idea is great, but the reality is seriously flawed.

The tracker itself feels cheap and plastic, and is much larger than you expect. The big problem is if can’t be switched off without balancing it in a little plastic cradle, which is tricky on a desk -and even harder if you need to keep it secure in a drawer. Every night mine falls over as I close my drawer, and I’m left tracking an unknown task overnight which has to be edited out in the app.

And it’s the app that’s the worst bit. I regularly lose whole days of entries, or they’re presented in a seemingly random order, or a day is shown twice, or I enter entries only for them to disappear later or never appear at all. I can’t trust anything it’s telling me, and in the absence of a web interface any editing in-app is a right pain. So this will go in the box of old USB cables and calculators as a pointless curiosity, and I’m going to shell out for a Harvest subscription.
