  • Doesn’t work with Apple Accessories

It’s a good piece of software if you are just using an iPad. But it doesn’t work with the Apple keyboard or pencil for text or image input so no good for me.

Hi! MindNode for iOS is fully supports keyboard input. Here's also a list of all the shortcuts: https://mindnode.com/article/shortcuts-ios Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and ideas regarding Apple Pencil with us. I've added your feature suggestion to our list of suggested features. I can't promise that this will make it into the product in the near future. However, we review everything users send to us carefully. Regards, Vanessa
  • Unblock your mind

I am researching a new nonfiction book I plan to write. I had loads of material, but was confused about how to organize the material. I did not know what story to tell. An acquaintance suggested I try mind mapping. After reading many reviews, I chose MindNode.

A few hours later, I had my information organized and categorized nicely. I figured out what story to tell. The tool kept out of my way. Customizing colors and fonts and adding images was easy. Sending images to other apps was easy. Everything was easy.

I was so impressed that I decided to take one facet of my topic (about a chapter’s worth) and analyze it by drawing a second mind map. Within a few hours, I had not only drawn the map, I had discovered new insight into my subject! The new ideas that sprang from that gave me a unique angle that I plan on using to frame the entire book. None of this would have been possible with a clumsy tool.

  • What happened?

I have been a long time mind node user and recommended it to my friends and teachers. I loved all the features and customisablility and would have gladly paid a one-off to upgrade to pro features. Then I stopped using it in favour of paper for school. Now I'm doing online schooling and I've had to reinstall everything; quite frankly, I'm very disappointed with it. I can no longer use any of the features that I require for school without paying a monthly subscription, not something I want to do, especially for simple assignments and small plot points for my stories and dnd campaigns. I will no longer recommend this app to friends because quite frankly I have lost a good amount of features that before I used consistently. Not only that, but I've had to reinstall the app after it was deleted from my account and all the mind maps I had originally have been lost.
Sorry if this is too harsh, I don't want to be rude, but I needed to let you know.

Hi! Please use the following steps to reinstall MindNode 4: 1. Open the App Store app 2. Click on the account icon in the upper right corner 3. Locate the entry "Purchased" 4. MindNode 4 should be in this list, locate it and click the download icon next to it. Sorry to hear you're files were lost. Please note that your files weren't stored in MindNode, but on your device or in a cloud. Should you be interested in a one time purchase of MindNode 7 you'll find a solution at the bottom of this article: https://mindnode.com/article/mindnode-plus-faq Regards, Vanessa
  • Latest Version is a Mess

What happened to the ‘detach’ option? I like to rearrange thoughts or points to settle on the right architecture of my presentation, but that’s gone. I have a mess of lines and empty boxes as I try to figure out how to use the latest version. Guides are of no help on this, btw. Extremely disappointed. Mind Node used to be easy and intuitive. Looking for another app. Nothing in the response was helpful or even accurate. Update: I haven’t used Mind Node since my first review; they dropped the ball. I have been extremely happy with XMind: Mind Map. Update 2: The beauty, the genius, if you will, of early Mind Mode, was the relationship between two text boxes. You inserted text into one box, then tapped the + sign and another text box appeared. You could then simply detach that new box, right then and there, to drag it somewhere else, to arrange and rearrange your presentation, the architecture of your thesis or presentation. Your work flowed, as you didn’t have to tap three dots to get a drop down menu; you could keep working, seamlessly. The designers got too cute and turn a simple idea into a sloppy mess.

Sorry to hear you feel this way. We didn't change the basic behaviour of MindNode. You can find the Detach option in the Action tab of the panel (it's marked with 3 dots). You can also rearrange your mind maps via drag&drop. Regards, Vanessa Edit: Please send us an email to support@mindnode.com including screenshots of the behaviour that's confusing you and we'll be happy to help. Regards, Vanessa
  • [Update]cant be used with external keyboard

The lack of keyboard shortcuts for entering new nodes, switching between levels etc. makes it unusable for anything but the most lightweight mind maps. Not a serious tool

    UPDATE:

Developer responded to the above and pointed out the app does have ios shortcuts. I found out why they werent working for me and its because Full Keyboard Access needs to be disabled in Accessibility. WIth that enabled it appears as if none of the shortcuts work. My apologies to the developer as the shortcuts work very well and absolutely transforms the app.

  • Simply amazing.

    This app is simply incredible!

Out of all the other “mind map” apps this one is by far the best, it gives you so many options with the free version, and the user interface is very clean and simple, it’s helped me keep track of so many things. I honestly can’t believe it took me this long to find it.

I highly recommend this app to people who have a busy life, people who want to keep track of their illness/ disorders. And people who simply want to take notes.

  • Best app ever !!!!!!

This app is absolutely perfect for dental/medical school.
I screenshot lecture slides / images and then make condensed notes (which automatically sync into my iPhone app). From there I can keep studying essentially the entire lecture in a really beautiful and condensed format.
Also I like screenshooting relevant questions from question banks and joining them with the lecture notes to improve my understanding.
This app has helped me tremendously. I recommend it to all my classmates.

  • Amazing, MUST have App! Recommendations.

I am in love with this App as it is extremely difficult to organize my complex thoughts and ideas while working on projects. My only frustration is that I work on both iOS and PC, not Mac. I understand that you are a small dev team, but even a web based version that syncs your files would at least be a great work around. I know I share an opinion with most, that in order to incorporate this as a business solution (which it absolutely should be) we NEED windows support. Please!! Also... not very many small businesses will want to easily adopt a subscription model, and I see that as your largest potential user base.

Hi Zander! Thank you for sharing this with us. We're thinking about a web-based version of MindNode. At the moment however, I can't make any promises on when this will see the light of day. Regards, Vanessa
  • DONT DOWNLOAD

this app used to be useful until the developers caught a case of the monthlys. YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO FEATURES UNLESS YOU PAY MONTHLY. I don’t understand why every company thinks they deserve monthly payment for their products even when what they offer is as simple as this. Mindnode used to cost upfront if you wanted premium features, it was also extremely useful, it is no longer worth the price they put on it however. Don’t download or use until they offer something with the value they charge for. screw the monthlys.
