  • Great app and even better company & team!

I’ve been a MindNode user since MindNode 3. Out of the many mind mapping apps out there MindNode is my favorite. It strikes a perfect balance between agile + powerful. With the recent updates, I’ve been able to add information faster than most note taking applications.

Furthermore, I appreciate the team’s business model. I am truly thankful that I wasn’t tricked into a subscription model when I had already purchased their previous versions several times — everything is written in plain English. I believe a trustworthy company deserves a consistent user base that pays for their great product and services.

I am happy to purchase the next release and sub for extra features

  • its hard to make ppl happy nowadays

Im using mindnode since 2010s. using it as todolist cuz you know it is hierarchical sweet and minimalistic.
and I am using it everyday.
tried a thousand similar apps. to be frank this app is awesome.
who rates lower than 5. listen. if that app cannot make you happy. than nothing can make you happy. I didn’t encounter any issues since today.
this app worths a million thanks. but this explains how humankind is not clever enuff.
if that app not makes you happy well organized. what are you expecting on the earth.?
I won’t believe humankind’s cleverness till that app gets a million thanks and rate. really not understanding ppl.. :/

  • Thought I loved This

I got this app and was so excited how easy it was to use. Until today. I am a course writer, I had an entire class going in the start a thought section. I sat down tonight to keep writing and then map it, my entire class was GONE! It’s not anywhere. It did not save or anything. HOURS of work just gone. After spending time in just tears I wanted to rate this app.
Does it not save unless you map it??? I’m so upset and frustrated. This is the app I thought would make life so much easier for me and it just made a huge mess.

  • Unintuitive!

I deleted my last review because I thought maybe I didn’t spend enough time with it after tearing my hair out, but tried again tonight and just as frustrated. Completely counter-intuitive interface, to me anyway. Why can’t I drag a rectangle to a rectangle to connect Ideas. How do I get a new rectangle. Double tap? No, that would be too easy! No, I don’t want to extend that line over and over. How do I get a menu of choices, not pushing the plus that’s for sure, just get another line. Even finding a tutorial or help was fruitless. It must be somewhere. AND a subscription model on top of that? AND you can’t even see what some icons do because you’d need to subscribe to unlock those unnamed mystery features? Maybe one of those icons lets you create a new idea rectangle, but who knows? I still feel like there’s something (A LOT) I’m not getting, so very willing to be educated and change my review and rating again. Until then, I played around a little with simple minds which so far IS extremely intuitive. (Drag box to box, get line between boxes!) And not a subscription. And I have no connection to that app or company, just a relief to use it after this one.

Sorry to hear draging a node onto another and releasing it inorder to reconnect it wasn't working for you. Maybe you can share more on this to support@mindnode.com with us. Changing the shape of a node, i.e. making it a box, is a MindNode Plus feature. Regards, Vanessa
  • Upgrade from 4.0 option not available

I’ve always preferred iThoughts anyway, so it was an easy decision to delete the app when it turned out that the upgrade option shown in the iTunes Store (under In App Purchases) isn’t available.

Update: Deleted MindNode 4 too, so I wouldn’t need to keep remembering why I deleted this app.

  • Great app!

This is a really handy app for your thoughts, items for a project. The price is reasonable and the interface is easy enough. There are a few things I would really like to see though and currently missing:
    - Circle and proper oval shapes - how come these are missing?
    - Adding just a connector between 2 nodes on the same or any other level. This currently seems really clunky and untidy, the connector does not connect up nicely to the node.
    - The colours of the theme should be already in the saved items so adding something with that colour is readily available and I wouldn’t have to try and match it manually.
    - Whilst there is an undo button it is not easy to find. I would prefer this to be in the top right corner, easily available, as it is quite easy to make a mistake.
I would happily change my review to 5 stars after these are available/improved.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and ideas with us. I've added your feature suggestion to our list of suggested features. I can't promise that this will make it into the product in the near future. However, we review everything users send to us carefully. The reason there are no circles as node shapes ist that they'll use up quite a lot of space on the canvas in comparison to the content of a node. In MindNodes' Settings, you can activate Inherit Style for the reconnecting of nodes. If you tap the screen with 3 fingers an undo/redo menu will appear on top of your screen. Or you can swipe left with 3 fingers to undo and swipe right with 3 fingers to redo. Regards, Vanessa
  • Gone - Caution Updating

    Gone are my files.

Three stars based on old version. Lost my files so can’t really comment on the latest version.

Was prompted by a splash screen to upgrade to the latest version. Upgraded and discovered it did not overwrite the old version. Opened my mind maps and was prompted to upgrade those to the latest version which I did. Deleted the old app, only to find it deleted my newly upgraded mind maps as well.

Bad on me for not having a backup someplace else. But kind of frustrating that even though the files updated to the new version, they apparently were still controlled by the old version and stored in its folder not the new version folder. And making backups is not intuitive in the app.

Loved the old version. If this one was a good as what I had I would have given 4 stars. But not sure I want to spend the time to see what the new version is like just to recreate my old mind maps. I at least have an older version of one of them in a different app. And PDFs of the lost ones. Time to decide which app to recreate my mind maps in.

Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, iCloud keeps having hiccups like this. Please log in to iCloud.com, select iCloud Drive, and in the lower right corner under Recently Deleted you're hopefully able to find your file. Regards, Vanessa
  • Bittersweet...

Sweet: I have loved using this mind mapping app since I am a very visual person and sometimes I just need to get my thoughts down so that I can think through complex plans and maybe just get down some ideas that are swirling in my head so that I can rest. It really is helpful for that classic ADD brain where thousands of things are swirling around at once. Bitter: Unfortunately, if you don’t use the app for a while, when you come back, all your drawings will be gone. That reduces the usefulness of the app by a mile. But at least I can still screenshot the drawing, and then save the screenshot.

  • App is good & useful

App is good and useful but it looks like it has some rough edges when we create document using iCloud and move to OneDrive ... changes are not sync properly. It seems like there might be file format issue because of the underlying OS. However it can be made more smoother and useful.
