  • Perfect for visual thinkers!

This is the program I have always dreamed of. It helps you simplify complex concepts/relationships and find connections between ideas in a simple, visual, and flexible way. The interface is intuitive and feature rich. Love it!

  • Love It! But...

So I love this mid mapping app and considering I use it on my MacBook then being able to use it on the go on my iPad is nice, however the only thing I am having questions about is why you need to pay or subscribe to plus before you can connect one point to another using a dotted line.

Apart from that, it is an amazing app I would definitely recommend it.

  • A very-nearly perfect tool

I've used MindNode for a fairly long time: originally on the Mac and now on iOS / iPadOS. There really is nothing wrong with it. It's never broken things, and its new features have been tastefully considered: there's never been a moment where the developers lost sight of what a mind-mapping tool should be and do.

If you want a mind-mapping tool then you should seriously consider this one.

  • My brain just spilled all over my iPad

So mind maps, when i think of them, i think of someone up at the whiteboard trying to squeeze ideas out of my tiny little brain

Well this is the first time i have liked the process....no, loved the process

Although I’m using it for work purposes, I’m actually enjoying it, the theme element of it makes it so much better, not only cosmetically but also from a means to quickly identify things on the sheet, which is another great thing...
I like to have a small web page slotted down the side of my iPad screen that i can drop in and out as i need it, what i loved was being able to pull graphics (in this case clients logo’s) and drop them directly onto the bubbles and make it easy to spot who’s who on a zoomed out view.

I haven’t gone into the deep elements of the app, but i have been really impressed so far, i will be showing this to some team members, especially those who have a bad memory like me as it’s really helping me to spit out thoughts and manage my workload

My main suggestion would be around theming and templates.

I have multiplied maps on the one page, all different, but with the same or very similar structures, it would be good to be able set a default
Speaking of defaults, if you could have different templates for bubbles of different level on a quick reference list, rather than having to copy styles

  • Helpful but not Game-Changing

I WANT to love it, but I’m still better off drawing mind maps manually.

It’s the best mind-mapping software I’ve seen so far, but it doesn’t go above or beyond in anyways.
It’s difficult to control, not very intuitive. Hard to edit existing nodes, and very touchy controls.

The best thing about it is its design! But again, a bit hard to control and hard to read with the standard setup. Everything gets very small very quickly.

But the one thing that would make it NEXT LEVEL.
What I would forgive all of these sins for is the following:

Apple Pencil support on the iPad.
And not like... kind of. Like full on ability to draw on it anywhere and mark it up, without exporting as an image and remaining fully editable.
It just feels like a very limited app compared to what the iPad really ought to be capable of.
    And for $20 per year?
Maybe $20 ONCE, and I would leave a higher review.
But the “Apps as a service” model falls apart if you don’t service it.
The app is barebones, and they have yet to “service” it with any updates of any kind.
It’s far from a one-stop-shop for my notes and is purely only useful for grand overviews and mapping.
But COULD be used for so much more.

I like it! It’s good for what it does.
But it does not go above it’s call of duty in any fashion, but its priced as though it would.

    Meh... 3 stars.

  • Great app! with room for improvement

I have been looking for a mind map app designed for the Apple Pencil and this is probably the closest so far. There are a few suggestions I would love to see:

-I tend to move the canvas solely with my finger, and subsequently only use the pencil to draw the mind map arrow line and handwrite inside the bubbles.
It would be great if I could instantly draw an arrow line directly from the bubbles without needing to press the plus symbol. This would be intuitive through acting just like a physical paper mind map.

-It would also be great if there was a way to prevent the Apple Pencil from moving the canvas, so to dedicate that gesture only to your hand.

Creating distinct dedicated gestures between Apple Pencil and your fingers would make this a more intuitive Apple Pencil focused mindmap app for me. Fingers for navigating/settings and the pencil for drawing/writing.

    Thank you!

  • Thieves!

You stole my $20 dollars. You really cheap and clearly don’t care about anyone who supported you in the past. Your nasty subscription won’t work with me.

  • Suggestion

I love MindNode ... I tried a few Mindmap apps now (some fully feature, others just stayed in the basic tool before making the decision); it is one of the easiest Mindmap tool to use.

Some suggestion: 1) Can you please enable the node folding and expanding from when we click the map instead going to the option “...” 2) To allow default title to be the whatever text we entered in centre node (when we create new mindmap).

    Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and ideas with us. 1.) You can also fold/unfold via the context menu of on a node. 2.) If you're saving to iCloud Drive this should happen automatically. Regards, Vanessa
  • An excellent mind mapping app!

The basic version is pretty good, the the customizability of the paid version feels worth it to me. I definitely recommend the app (I have the desktop version which is great as well).

  • Nice app, crappy business model and experience

I purchased this app some time ago, and use it pretty frequently.

Then, last week all of the functionality I’d paid for became “premium only” and unavailable. I could only use the “free editor”, despite having paid for the app.

This happened because they want to switch people over to a subscription model, EVEN IF you’ve already bought it. They’d crippled the app to force you to switch.

Don’t expect your mindmaps to be reverse compatable either, in case you need to collaborate with someone on a different version. I thought modern software had moved beyond versioning pain!!!

    Not cool, would not recommend.
