Excellent tracker. Almost perfect.

Excellent tracker, but the instructions are a little confusing.

Tip: When you are using Trusted Places, you cannot enter Tracking mode. It will only let you know when the person leaves the Trusted Place. Then it enters Tracking mode and you can use Live tracking if you want. The instructions never mention that. I almost cancelled because of that! They need to make better instructions.

And the chat help is useless. They are never available.

Great! ....except for the map

I love how small this tracker is! My 5 year old Autistic son actually LIKES wearing it and makes sure I put it on his belt loop every day. I feel like the app alerts me pretty quickly after he’s left a “trusted place.” My only complaint is that the map is not very detailed. When he’s not in a trusted place I can see what part of town he’s in and street names, but the buildings are mostly just unlabeled rectangles and squares. I would prefer a much more detailed map and the ability to see a satellite view. This isn’t a deal breaker for us. However, I do worry that I would have a hard time finding him if he wandered off.

Could be better

After weeks of testing- the battery is good for about two to three days. Less if you use their live tracking mode. Customer service is very responsive, however would not provide free shipping for the return as they insisted that the return is not due to a defect - even though the return request was placed within my trial time.
In my opinion, if the battery does not operate as advertised, it’s defective. It is waterproof as my kids took it to the beach, location settings are not very accurate though because I was unable to locate one of two jiobits at the mall. - as the location of the item was inaccurate so it took us about 45 minutes to find when it fell off of my kids’ shoe. Notifications got better with the update, but as long as it’s the location the jiobit is leaving or entering a trusted place. If you the jiobit travels to a store or park or other location in between travels of trusted locations, you’ll have to check the app to see where your child or pet is. If the battery life worked as expected, I’d be happy-

Response from developer

Hey there Kirbee226! This is Nick, VP of Strategy & Operations at Jiobit. Thanks so much for writing us and helping us improve!! We normally see 5-8 days of battery life (I see 10-12 days on my boys typically). I'd love to dig into your Jiobit history and find out what's going on. Regarding your return request, we don't consider this a failure because we believe we can likely tune your situation, environment and settings to help your situation get to where we normally see customers, probably pretty easily. Also, we're happy to extend your free trial period until we make sure you're happy! It's true that indoor location tracking totally depends about the environment, so, unfortunately, finding a Jiobit in a mall, depending on the environment, could be understandably difficult. Sorry you had to experience that! Would love to have you back and have our engineers dig into your battery life and really find out what's going on! Thanks again, so much, for helping us make Jiobit better by providing this detail!! Reach out to us anytime.

Doesn’t last 45 days...

My first charge lasted 12 hours. Now that I don’t use all of the features, it averages 2 to 3 days. If you want to live track, it depletes the battery in a matter of a few hours. Better find your dog quick! If it uses the cellular network, it kills the battery fast. Stay close and keep it on bluetooth and it helps. If you get on the map and make a bunch of safe places, the battery will last longer, but it won’t show you your pets exact location, only that he’s in a certain safe place. I wanted to know where my dog was on the farm, but the battery doesn’t last long enough for this. I had to make the entire farm a safe place to keep the battery up... The map doesn’t have satellite view, so if your out in the country the only reference points are roads. No houses, barns, tree lines, creeks, only roads. Also the map doesn’t show your location in reference to your dog so you have to make your best guess where you are on a standard view map. It gets 3 stars because it works good in town and if your pet is always near a care team member with Bluetooth. Not at all impressed with the 7-45 days claim.

Great for kids with Autism

This is a fantastic app to help keep track of my son with Autism. It allows me to give him more freedom to be independent while still keeping him safe.

Accurate notifications

The Jiobit works really well even in Chicago, where tall buildings usually interfere with location tracking. The gadget is really small and barely noticeable. It can be clipped to virtually anything: keys, bags, shoes etc. I also appreciate how the customer representatives are really eager to help.
