Cars are nice, app glitchy
I’ve used Mevo twice now. In both instances, the cars were nice and I had no issues reserving, unlocking and driving the cars. However, both times I tried to end my drive, the app did not let me to do.
Fortunately, in both cases, I was able to call the help line and the support person was able to end my drive remotely once they picked up, but it’s disappointing that what should be a basic part of the app does not work as intended.
If this was a user issue, neither the app nor the support person gave any indication of what I did wrong - which would be a helpful feature to add to the app if that was the case.
The app is still good for people who don’t own a car who occasionally need one on short notice, but issues with the app make me only want to use it when I have no other option.

Just a joy to use
Could not recommend this app and experience more. It’s such a joy to use. Absolutely seamless and very well thought out
Great cars strange service.
Noticed a flat tyre and decided to switch cars. Was charged for the trip with a flat tyre even though it was a few minutes. Raised the flat tyre issue with customer service and they didn’t seem to care. 🤔
Waste of time, don’t bother!
Very complicated to setup. They ask for a lot of personal documents and information. Then you get an automated response asking for more documents and more selfies with the new documents. Limited cars available so if you are in New Zealand, don’t bother.
Great App and Service
Sign up process is really simple, cars are great quality, pricing is super reasonable! All in all a really awesome service, sets the benchmark for car rental really high.
Great alternative to traditional car hire
MEVO provides a very good alternative to the traditional car hire options. So far I have never had trouble finding a vehicle and they have always been in good condition. The advance booking works well. App is good and you can find out pretty well everything you need from within the app. Locking/unlocking the car is a bit sluggish occasionally but you always get there. Be good to see you starting up in Christchurch some time.

Works surprisingly well
I was skeptical about relying on an app to access a rental car but after a few trips I can see it works really well for casual trips.
Still can’t rely on it for time critical use because the advance booking feature never shows any available cars, except for low-use times, thus mostly defeating its purpose.
Mevo could also highlight their dedicated charging spots better, as in Wellington cars are often left in other nearby spots with low charge.

A revolutionary service
Ever since I started Mevo, I was able to live a car free life which is saving me so much money as I never need to pay for fuel, maintenance, insurance or depreciation anymore. Yay!
