App’s fine if you can even sign in
I’ve been using Writer Duet for the better part of a year, because of its ease of use and generous free plan. The program itself is pretty decent and you can definitely get some professional-level use out of it. That is if the app even lets you sign in at all.
I’ve been having to use writer duet on my computer exclusively, because every time I try to sign in with google,(which my account is linked through) the log-in screen just takes me back to the beginning as if I had cancelled my log in attempt. I’ve tried with different accounts on different devices, even off-app on browsers but nothing seems to work.
Forget about trying to write something while on the go. This app seemingly has a problem with you using it.Show lessivansayoray
Great when it works
I’ve been using the app on my iPad, along with the desktop version for several months now. Synchronicity across devices is a massive positive, but I have two major issues currently:
- The Google Drive backup upon save feature doesn’t work properly. It constantly re-asks for authorisation again on almost every save, making it a really frustrating experience.
- The card view doesn’t really work at all on iOS. I can create them but I’m not able to edit or delete them, so it basically makes part of the outlining and planning process impossible to do on my iPad.
Developers, please could you fix these issues as this would be an easy upgrade to a five star experience!Show lessCambyCombo
Nearly lost an entire project
I saved it by sending it to myself, but when I went to work on my script the spacing and pages were an absolute mess. Moving to another program, for sureCanadianRabbit

Looked promising but...
Tried to sign in with my email address, I just get the app screen with the logo and nothing happens. There's no feedback about why the app is stuck, it's just died. Shame because I was using it earlier today and liked it, but after this I won't be trusting my data to it.
Ok I found the reason why the app store responding. I logged in via the website and it says they're moving away from Google and Facebook authentication, so I need to create a password.

Doesn’t work at all
Asks for an email and then simply freezes on a picture of the app logo without letting you interact with the actual app. Can’t click or type anything behind the frozen overlay. Ashame as it looks really useful, but is totally unusable on my iPad.gaffnp
Best IOS screenplay app
I would usually use apps like trebly but these apps aren’t available on mobile. This is the best IOS alternative I have found. There’s a few bugs (sometimes the text will turn red or it will autocorrect for no reason) but nothing worth dropping a star for. If you want to write scripts on the go, this is the app for you. Once you learn how to get around the few bugs, the app is easy and you can just type. It also doesn’t take long to learn (even if you have had no prior experience of scriptwriting)Show lessFlameGod12456
Stuck on title screen
App was great when it was usable, but for some reason when I enter my email to sign in, it just freezes at the title screen. Even across different devices it’s been an issue so idk what’s up with that.reallyleo

This App used to be 5 Stars until recent updates
I have been using WriterDuet for three years and up until now it has been the best desktop and mobile screenwriting app I could have asked for.
However, recently I have found the mobile and desktop has been updated in a not positive way. Specifically I am referring to changes to inputs.
For example, when I wanted to turn a sentence that is in the Action part of the page into the Dialogue part of the page, I used to be able to click anywhere within that sentence that was in Action, then click Dialogue, and it would automatically convert that entire unbroken sentence into Dialogue.
Now, if I do this on desktop and especially mobile it only takes the part of the sentence that the cursor is on and puts that part in Dialogue. I have absolutely no idea why this was changed, as typing on mobile is really hard and having to click and drag the cursor to the front of the sentence just to do this is not efficient.
WriterDuet used to be the best screenwriting platform but since these recent updates it is almost unusable on mobile. I hope this is updated in the future to make it be the 5/5 star app that it was for two and a half years since I started using it.Show lessFredlick
