  • Sync

I wish this app would sync with MyFitnessPal so I can track my fitness with my Fitbit.
  • Easy to use, recipes are delicious

Disclaimer: have used this app for 2 weeks.

    Pros:
    - amazing to be able to outsource meal planning, the meals have all been reliably healthy and delicious, as well as fun to prep
    - The grocery list function is a real time saver, allowing you to select groceries and do online curbside delivery in advance.

    Areas for improvement:
    - plan on tweaking the amounts, especially if prepping for a partner as well. The app essentially just increases each recipe by whatever your partner's caloric needs are which isn't always practical.
    - It would be helpful to have an option to display fruits and vegetables as whole or half items in the recipes (like on the grocery list) in order to make prepping easier, plan on using a kitchen scale.
    - it would be helpful to be able to separate the grocery list by meal, for example I may go shopping on Sunday afternoon and want lunch and breakfast on the previous week's list.

All in all I definitely recommend the app - give the trial a go to see if the level of structure is something you will use/worth the monthly fee to you.

  • They have thought of EVERYTHING to help a person be successful at meal planning!!

To start: The app creates a menu for you & if you don’t like what it chooses, you can swap out individual meals for something different; it offers suggestions to swap out with. You can also add your own recipes as well. It also has a shopping list. All you do is push a button on the recipe you’ve chosen & it adds the ingredients to the shopping list. You can cross off items you don’t need & cross things off your list while you shop. All the ingredients on the list are listed in the sections you find them in the store. ie: produce, frozen, spices, etc. The recipes only take 10 to 15mins to make, & the ones I chose, were sooooo delicious that I’m completely sold on this app!! I’m a horrible binge eater & I’m horrible about planning meals & snacks on my own. I have a feeling this is my key to weight loss success! Had to share this find for anyone else interested in meal prep & needs help with their portion control. The only downside to this app, for me, is that it measures by ounces instead of teaspoons, tablespoons, & cups, so I have to look up the conversions every time bc I don’t want to weigh things. So far, that is the only thing I don’t like about the app... They’ve really thought of everything - they even have step by step instructions to scroll through as you make the recipe... Sorry such a long post, but I’m blown away by this app!! 😊

  • Life is easy with this app

Love it. Been planning on making an app to split up food between two users different calorie requirements but it's been done for me 👌only thing I need now is more variety and more recipes as well as being able to download the app on my partner's device on a different Apple ID and not pay for a second subscription and link the accounts so we both have access to plan our week and have a shared shopping list

  • Not bad so far, some downsides

I’m still in my trial week and am not 100% sold on purchasing this app yet. Mainly because of the following:
    1. When customizing meals (I.e. swapping out certain days for new choices rather than having the same meal all week), it appears the grocery list isn’t updating automatically. As a result it was a pain to go back in and correct my shopping list once I noticed.
    2. In the spirit of not eating the same meal each day/night, I was expecting the app to present “swap” meal options that would be comparable in carbs / macros to the original meal; however It appears this isn’t happening so I can’t tell how much I’m going over / under unless I manually calculate it.
    3. I don’t see where my macros goals / actual numbers live - it would be helpful to have a meal plan tailored to my macros goals and only see food options / swap out options that fit within my daily macros.
    4. I don’t see a dairy free preference option and a lot of the recipes have dairy (I’m dairy intolerant).

I do like that you can add your own recipe; however you have to manually enter in the macro info. I find myself having to cross reference other apps that do have this info I order to actually enter it into this one.

I like the overall concept of this app but not certain it’s worth the money just yet.

The ease of use is awesome, then the meals are delicious, then it is all customisable! Best app ever!

That's great to hear - thank you so much for adding your review :-)
  • Love it!!

Coming from a big family I always struggled on how to portion and shop for one, this app is a life saver. It does all the hard work for me and the recipes are delicious! Things I never would've discovered or cooked for myself. I don't own a scale, and track my weight loss by measurements, and I've found that I've lost an inch in my waist and 3" in my hip (1 WEEK!!! ) AMAZING! my partner has a different with schedule than me, so I absolutely love the feature that allows you to select which meals your partner will be eating.
I've only had a few mishaps with the recipes (zucchini cakes, I'm looking at you. It wasn't portioned right between the dry ingredients and the liquids). However, still delicious.
I've recommendation I would give to the developers is to adjust the shopping list to show how the ingredients are used (such as chopped almonds instead of just almonds, or specifying a variety of colors of bell peppers, as suggested in the recipe, instead of just "bell pepper"). Other than that, I can't give this app enough stars or thanks!

  • Amazing app, but slightly flawed...

This app is just what I need to start prepping meals and losing weight (already losing weight by the way). The recipes are super tasty and the instructions are fairly simple to follow. However my biggest issue is when it comes to cooking the meals with the required tools. For example by comparison with the app “Fit Men Cook” the recipes gives exact measurements for cooking equipment as a serving such as muffin tins or Jars where as this app the volume varies from person to person (both apps are developed by the same developer and I use the “fit men cook” app for scaling portions into the containers) so the amounts required in one portion may overfill your jars, cupcake tin or bowl

  • Unrealistic and expensive recipes

I’ve been looking for an app like this for a while that are organised with meal prepping in mind, to allow me to organise myself for the week and spend less money and time on food.

Firstly the app is very well designed and has a lot going for it, but for my first meal plan for a week it proposed a shopping list with 69 separate ingredients to buy for only 4 meals! These were mostly spices and the like, but a lot were unnecessary variations of similar ingredients, such as garlic cloves and garlic paste. I get that the idea is to add variation but the meals aren’t organised practically with budget (or sense) in mind, and are often ingredients suited to that one recipe that aren’t very versatile to be used in other meals. Also the app doesn’t allow you to indicate food you can’t eat or don’t like.

The overall organisation and planning of the app is A+. If the meal plans were a bit more realistic in terms of number of ingredients, budget, versatility, time, etc I would easily give it five stars; but as it is I don’t think I’ll pay for the subscription.

Hi there! We've been listening to feedback like this and we've added some really simple 5 minute meals that use less ingredients. Our recent updates have had a great reception - I thought I'd reach out just in case the app might be helpful for what you are looking to achieve.
  • Great app but I have suggestions

First of all I love this app. Been using it for about a week now.

Secondly, I’d like to point out that although I’m not sure how it is for everyone else, the snack is the same cals as each meal. This is fine but if I’m eating another 500 cals id at least like the option to choose another meal instead of having to choose a snack. Another issue I have is when a recipe calls for 6 oz banana, adding it to the shopping list automatically lists it as 2 bananas. Maybe include an option to choose approx # of item / total item weight.

    Overall great app, very pleased.
