Feature rich and intuitive!

So many features for my Cowboy C4 and I love the navigation and linking to Strava as well as Apple Health to track my rides! So many features and a I love the social aspect of the app!

Cowboy Bike

This has been a revelation. I bought an E-bike in lockdown. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I was skeptical of it but thought I’d give it a go. So a Cowboy 3 bike.
I’ve not covered many miles (compared to the other Cowboy riders out there). I live in the West of Scotland, and manage 10km once a week (all in one day usually), but it’s increased my confidence, my trust in E-bikes in general and, gotta say, my general demeanour.

Great bike. Great app

While no company is perfect, the attention to detail that cowboy shows in their bikes and app are exactly why I use them. As a UI designer, the app is nearly perfect. You won’t regret using it.

Last 2 updates have broken activities

The last 2 updates were really bad. The app stoped getting the ride data from my C3, the battery level is wrong on the settings page, and it stoped syncing rides with Apple Health. Because of that is now mostly useless.

Buggy and impractical

Latest update keeps forcing me to enter login details and will refuse to unlock my bike if I have no signal.
Extra features are nice albeit a little all over the place in terms of UI but the app is essentially broken if it cannot execute the most basic feature of unlocking your bike.

Disappointing update

The latest update is glitchy, lights sometimes don’t work, and I have had the Bluetooth connection drop out three times already while riding. The bike is also supposed to connect simply by moving it and that too also fails. Generally I am happy albeit it I will be very very happy when these problems have been sorted. I will try and reinstall the app and keep fingers crossed

Hello, we've been fixing a lot of issues with the app recently. We hope your experience got smoother and you now feel more satisfied with our app! For Auto Unlock, just be aware that the app must still be running in background for this feature to work. The OS might kill it without you noticing if you're in Low Power Mode for instance. If you still have issues with Auto Unlock and they have nothing to do with this, could you reach out to our support team through the app chat? It would help us further investigate the problem. Unable to add emergency contacts. Whenever I try to add, I can only call them.

Functionality is decent

Key features of the app for controlling the bike are satisfactory. The bit that is not good is using the map tool to navigate to your destination. The routes don’t recalibrate fast enough or clearly if you make a wrong turn and it gives you confusing directions. Though the biggest problem is that visual directions appear very late! So if you need to make a turn, the arrow will appear at the last moment making it quite dangerous as it prompts unanticipated change of direction. I’ve stopped using it for live navigation as it was getting quite dangerous and had a couple of close calls where I narrowly escaped being run over!
