Please add custom items

I really love the interface, but I really wish I could add custom items for those not found in a search... For instance, I have several books I want to read that are from smaller publishers, and I can’t add them to the app.

Also, I would love to make lists for my hobbies (projects I want to do/make).

I do like the app a lot, but if it let me add custom items, it would be perfect!

Fabulous

Shawn has done an incredible job. I love this. I’ve gone through Trello boards and who knows what else.

I love being able to have ONE place all my stuff is tucked into. Go to a bookstore and find an awesome book? Throw it into Sofa! Pass by an ad for a new TV show at a stoplight? Throw it into Sofa!

Fantastic, Shawn. Great work—the world goes round because of awesome indie developers like you 👍

It would be great if I could add things that were not in the sofa database.

It would be awesome if sofa could support shortcuts

Otherwise pretty great!

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! We’ll add it to our list!

Exactly what I need

When I hear of a movie or music, grab the app and write it down. Perfect. Waiting for it to sync between iPad and phone.

Would benefit from some onboarding

5 min in and I've been asked twice to give a rating, so these knobs likely need adjustment.

I'm not clear on what Activity and Quick List are for - is it possible to create new lists of these? Or just the bottom set of lists that seem to more just be categories such as Books and Movies?

Can an item be a Movie and in Quick List? Or is it a folder model where everything exists in one place instead of multiple, as in tags?

When something is checked off as done, it looks like it gets moved to Activity, and possibly like the list of content it came from loses that context?

These are the things that confuse me a bit, hope the feedback is helpful!

Needs some work

I started moving my lists to the app and two problems came up right away (1) there’s no import option and (2) certain books are just not listed at all. When there’s a book the app doesn’t recognize it won’t let you add it at all :(

For the organized movie buff

As a cinephile and co-host of movie podcast Film Loop, I need a tool to help me organize the films I watch and keep notes on. Sofa is just the app for the job. The UI is simple and clean, clearing away distractions. I can keep lists on my own terms and there’s a great feature to see my activity and when I’ve finished watching something on my list. I’m not sure I can run my podcast as smoothly without Sofa!

The most useful app in a LONG time

Such a simple concept but is executed very well. Helps me massive. Surprisingly, I’ve ended up using it more for books than for films, but both lists are v useful.

Does what you need, well

Sofa doesn’t try to do any more than you need. Keep lists of movies, shows, and books you want to remember for later. Once you’ve completed one, check it off (it’s saved in a separate list). You could use a ton of other generic list-making apps to do the same, but Sofa has all the little touches that are tailored to these media.

Fantastic with room to grow

This is a fantastic app and experience. Super Simple and a joy to use. I highly recommend it. My only request is that it had awareness of which TV network a show you save is on. Also what’s the release date of the film.
