2 critical issues (and 1 gripe) on an otherwise amazing product
I love this and I plan to use it a lot to learn scales and write bass lines. That said, there are 2 glaring mistakes and 1 gripe. 1. On the scale exercises, The Degrees of the keys are not numbered correctly. The “Root” is numbered “0” not “1”, meaning that the “1” is the “2”, the “2” is the “3”, etc... this is a totally egregious error and violates basic music theory. You can even see this in the photos provided on the app page right here in the App Store (photo 5 as of writing this). Luckily it should be easy to fix. Start the key numbering at 1, not 0. 2. When assigning the light colors to the scales. It should be based on the degrees of the key, not the notes. So if I try to color the “1” or “root” note as green, the 3rd as blue and the 5th as orange, then color the 2,4,6,7 as red, it only works in one key. As soon as I switch the key I have to recolor the notes. It seems to me that allowing a person to have a “template” for how they want their keys colored should be a no brainer. 3. Bass players are people too! Haha. Seriously. All the tutorials online, social content… it’s all for guitars. Also, can we get a 5 and 6 string bass version? I’ll change my review to 5 stars if you fix 1 and 2. Otherwise I think it misses the mark just enough. But I’ll still be using it. Great product overall.Show lessBorn Again Rocker

Thanks for the feedback! We're looking into the Root note numbering and will get back to you. We're glad to see you're enjoying all aspects of the product other than the note coloring, which is indeed something we're looking into being able to let users customize as you stated in the future and link it to the root note instead of the note itself. For bass, just change your instrument to bass in settings! There are also several courses for bass and over 50,000 song tracks for bass. We definitely haven't forgotten about bass players.Great customer service
Hi I recently bought a guitar with the fret zealot system. I love my guitar and I love the system. The online training is amazing for beginners like myself. I have learned so much form this app and the LED system makes everything so much easier. I did have an issue that I couldn’t figure out and so I reached out to customer service and Shaun was very helpful. It took us a couple of days to figure it out but we got it resolved. I ordered the system for my son’s guitar. I wanted to give him a wonderful gift without seeing what guitar he actually had. I just ordered the standard system and his guitar was unique. Shaun at Fret zero got right back to me and took back the old system and submitted the correct system without any hassles. I received my Fret Zealot, only to find that it would not light up. I contacted Shaun in customer support, and he immediately sent me a replacement battery pack. Problem fixed! So I bought mine around Christmas but got busy after the holidays never put it on my guitar. Then when I finally did get around to using it this month, it ended up being to short!! Shaun took care of everything and the exchange was fast and stress free. I’m on day 5 of the 30 day challenge in the lessons and I love it!! So I started using the program about a week ago. Unfortunately I had some led problems which the great group over there not only helped me out but went above and beyond to make sure I was good. As someone who use to play bass in their teens I was able to pick up and play along with the lessons without the strip. It just arrived today in the mail and is working great. Easy to use and affective
This app is an excellent learn to play tool. You can pick this up at any level and learn something new. Was never able to play anything on a guitar even with lessons, but Fret Zealot cut through to me and helps me finally play! Can’t say enough good things about this app.McMahon34

I ordered a guitar with fret zealot pre installed for my daughters birthday.
Unfortunately it arrived with the head broken at the nut. Never seen anything like it.
I contacted support and reported the problem with a couple of pictures. Shaun from support was great to deal with, and they sent a replacement quickly without any issues or making me jump through hoops.
