  • Really wanted this to work

    I was really excited at the idea of having a gold backed debit card to diversify from mainly having savings in bitcoin and USD. Unfortunately, I was only able to load funds from my debit card. I attempted to transfer funds from my Schwab account only to have them returned. After I decided to try to transfer from my Strike account which I use as my primary account, the test transfers went through but once Glint discovered that it was from Strike I was told future transactions would be returned as they do not deal with institutions associated with Bitcoin. Great idea, just not very practical. I will just go back to using PHYS to hold gold in my brokerage account in a liquid form.

    Hi WxMan235, thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and sorry to hear you've had issues funding your account! I believe I was able to locate your account. Unfortunately, we don't see any record of funds being received or contacts around funds from your Schwab account being returned. We do see the 2 test deposits were received and then returned to Schwab bank which is standard procedure when setting up an ACH bank transfer as they are used to create a digital paper trail so that you can then verify the random amounts with your bank to start transferring actual funds. This may be the cause of confusion in that area. As for Strike, that is correct, we currently don't facilitate areas with cryptocurrency but Glint does have plans to expand into this area in the future, but we apologize for any limitations or inconvenience not having this functionality at this time has on you. As Glint continues to grow we hope that we will have the opportunity to reconnect with you down the road!
  • Very poor Customer Service and treatment

    They have very poor customer service, and have never been treated so poorly by a bank or a pay service of any type before in my life. After having an account open for several months, they froze my account to ask for more documents, which I had provided on day one when the account was open, but they apparently lost them. Very frustrating to deal with them and get my account unfrozen! Tone deaf. I close my account and I am moving on and I recommend no one do business with Glint if this is the way they are going to treat their customers.

  • Better with physical gold!!

    I have money on my account gold and fiat.. glint has decided to decline all my purchases as of late.( may be trouble in the company) now they have their people giving them glowing reviews. This should be so simple, just hate not having access to my money with no reason and it takes days to get a response on email or call and get told it’s a 4 minute wait and it’s 27 minutes before you hang up, imagine that your only money and they won’t let you spend it and it’ll takes days to find out why… I’ve started my close account sequence but they have to physically talk to you and that takes days… if you want gold just buy it , it you want liquidity buy gold, it’s just like cash

  • Unable to access -Many bugs/ glitches

    I have tried multiple times to register under an account I already created an email pass and pin under but keeps saying that the email and password is invalid or incorrect. Attempted several times to do a forgot password but did not receive an email. I tried multiple times to register again but app would not let me past creating a 4 digit pin. I am glad I do not have money in this account as this company does not seem like a reliable platform that holds your money. Could you imagine needing access to your money and not being able to log in; doesn’t sound good? This is why digital currency is all about control. They can shut you out and say “ there is a glitch that we are working on resolving” , “this account is currently undergoing maintenance”. Your money should be readily available at ALL times.

  • Won’t load

    After some time I re downloaded and went through the login process. This was easy and with no problems, but at the end instead of opening up my account it just went to a blank black screen. Please sort this out Glint as I can’t access my account. (Great concept, great app, usually).

  • Best debit card anyone could have to make money with

    The idea that you can buy and sell gold with a debit card keep cash in reserve to use as a debit card, but potentially make a fortune, buying gold low and then selling it back high is very desirable. I wish they added a silver feature and a platinum teacher as well.

    I thought it was a good company….y’all didn’t block my accounts for over a week that I opened account with you guys but immediately I made a purchase y’all blocked my account and when I called you requested for verification ID which I gave you and over 24 hrs now my account is still blocked why holding onto my purchase and my personal details without restoring my accounts….it means I can get a convince business transaction with you guys then and it means you are not what you claimed you are

  • EXPENSIVE

    So I decided to do some math. I took the weight “of the gold it said I had” times it times the price of the gold ”it says it’s worth”. And it was about $12 off. So my total value of my gold it said I had was valued 12 dollars less. Not to mention they take gold from you every month for “vault fees”. Charged me $10 to deliver my card. And charge me .5% of transaction fee’s. They can’t even give you the right price of you hold that they “say it’s worth”. Very disappointed because I excited to use this for my savings” So my dollars won’t keep getting inflated. Do not recommend unless the problem is fixed.

The value of the grams in your GOLD wallet will be based on the live selling spot price which can vary slightly from the buying spot price. Additionally, some clients can get confused as they use the price shown on the Markets tab but this only shows the live buying spot price. The vault fee covers both insurance and storage of your GOLD and the system will always attempt to deduct it from your currency wallet unless there are no funds in it then it will be deducted from the GOLD wallet. Premiums are standard when purchasing or selling precious metals, and Glints is 0.5% which is very competitive in this market. We are very transparent with our fees and limits as well so please visit our website if you'd like to review them further.     I have been following GLINT since I heard of it years ago & the US government was trying to get there hands all in it when the company was just trying to get started here.
    I don’t think it worked at that point in time, but they finally found a good partner here in the US which I am thankful for.
    It finally came to the US & it used to have a several hiccups back in the day.
    But as time goes on, it has & I hope will get better with age.
    So after watching & waiting for the hiccups to fully leave. I then got my card.
    I have been promoting Glint since I got my card.
    Thus far, I have gotten my cousin, then my sister & I finally got my brother onto Glint. You can say I am Glint’s unofficial, mobile rep. Ha! Ha! Ha!
    I am happy that they now have direct deposit, which is awesome.
    And I have a few ideas for promoting this company on T-shirts & I am still waiting for the polo shirt.

  • Fees, Fees and MORE Fees

    Don’t be fooled! I get it that businesses need to charge fees or a percentage of transactions to make money, but GLINT appears to take you to the cleaners. While it’s understandable and reasonable for them to charge a percentage of transactions for buying gold, where things get excessive is they charge a fee to to fund/“top up” your account (which is necessary to transact in any way on their platform) using a debit card and then they have the audacity to also want to charge a ridiculous $10 fee to have a GLINT Mastercard debit card mailed to you, (which the use thereof ultimately benefits them!) I’ve never heard of a financial institution charging users to have cards mailed to them, unless it’s a replacement/lost card. I think they should change their name from GLINT …. to GREED.

The 3% top up fee you referred to when using your bank card is a fee charged by our card processor due to the high daily limit, but we have a total of 3 funding options to choose from. The ACH bank transfer would be your best option to help avoid any fees.
