  • Very capable synth

This and all the other synths by Audiokit are such useful instruments to have in your collection of apps for music making. For Whatever genre they can be used and manipulated in so many ways, it’s entirely down to your own imagination 🙂
I highly recommend the “Nerd Synth” too, especially as it has x-y pads for filtering etc.. Love it !

  • App crashes on launch

After updating the app to version 2.6.2 it now crashes on launch on my iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (2nd generation) using iOS 13.5.1. Please fix.
  • NOT MEANT FOR USE AS AUV3

In short: GET THE NEW KING OF FM from AudioKit, not this. —— This, right here, is the most important thing you need to know about this application. If you’ve got a lot of AUV3’s and you enjoy the flexibility that provides, you won’t want this, no matter how cheap it is. Notice how the 5 star reviews are years old. Currently, if you create a tune in GarageBand with this instrument, when you “Share”, THIS INSTRUMENT WILL NOT PLAY! It hasn’t worked in awhile, was hoping this latest release would fix it, and it doesn’t. Without being able to “Share” the resulting song from GarageBand, this instrument is useless. The best part about this update is that they at least finally tell you that the AUv3 problem you’re having with the app is NOT going to be fixed, it’s primarily meant for standalone use. So, while AUv3 is gaining ground across the universe of mobile apps, this one won’t be coming along for the trip, unfortunately.

  • OMG amazing

OMG what a synth. I would have paid 20 X more for this iApp. It’s a must. Very accurate re: DX 7 II and fits in the same level as Arturia. Please tell me you are doing more like this?
  • This is just lovely!

I re-downloaded this app earlier this morning, whoosh, 2 hours just vanished in a delightful journey of audio discovery. I love this synth, thank you!

  • This App Solves A Lot Of Problems

I own 20 IOS synthesizers and it is very hard to find good nuts and bolts, solid, E pianos, strings, sounds, etc. etc.

Thankfully, this app has a bunch of extremely usable sounds and fills the void nicely. It’s not one of those let’s make music from Mars sound effect synths.
  • Lemme tell ya

So, I discovered this app after buying my first iPad Pro. I’m a woodwind and percussion player that’s been playing for decades. The sounds, to me, are amazing. The OG sounds of the classic Electric Piano/Rhodes took me back to the release of the real deal. The newer sounds are very inspiring to creators. In some situations where there’s no keys guy, I can open this app and do a little filler and the audience is none the wiser.
Get a copy and leave a good word for the people who have created this app.
    Thanks,

  • Better than a DX but not as reliable

Love this synth. The sounds are exactly what I wanted. The main issue is that there is not a instance of the app that it doesn’t crash on me. It happens when playing while changing presets or just changing presets period. I want to use this live but are way too nervous to do so.
  • Not triggering MIDI right away in GarageBand - pls load sound patch earlier?

Please see my D1 review, this has the same issue I think. In short, if I wanted to solely use FMPlayer and D1, I’d have to do around 1500 (fifteen hundred) double-tap actions for a full 32-track GarageBand song on my M1 iPad Pro, PER HOUR, that I wouldn’t have to, with any other instrument or synth I can think of. The D1 and this FMPlayer/DX7 are superb instruments musically, this is strictly an Audio Unit issue, a technical issue, they need to load up the last-used patch, as soon as GB song editor starts up and loads the Audio Units. Not wait until the user actually double-taps to play/load the patch manually. It’s been 2 years since I first notified of this issue, is all. Take care, pls see my D1 review for the details, it explains everything.
