The app Im a smart TV is insane

Since years ago I have the subscription on my phone it works no bad but on my smart TV it’s the works app I have seen ever

Every time I have to log in, after it reboots me and very very hard to watch the races on a smart tv instead I have to log in on my phone and stream it

F1TV Loves to take the money but to fix the app is impossible

Often very pixelated, despite 390+ Mbps download speed

I have over 390 Mbps on average and often get poor quality picture throughout the race. Some parts are perfect quality and match live races on Kayo, but often the picture quality is grainy and pixelated.

I’ve tried contact support, but no real answers. Their upload bandwidth must be quite poor. Interestingly it gets worse with older seasons. Watching 2015 season now and in parts it’s quite poor. It’s worst when watching in the F1 App on Apple TV device. It’s somewhat better o when casting to Apple TV from iPad. Doesn’t make sense but seems to be the case.

Interestingly I get the same experience on DAZN, except DAZN is worse. I have absolutely no issue at all, ever on Kayo, Netflix, Apple TV or any other App.

F1 App is very cheap and at least they offer a service and let me watch re-runs. I just wish they offered a dear option to allow better quality upload.

Content is Amazing but App needs improvement

I watch every race weekend including weekend warmups, practice sessions, qualifying, the race, and pre and post shows. I think F1 is doing a great job with all of these as far as commentary and the shows, but it’s been over 3 years of subscribing to this service and it still is one of the most outdated and laggy services I have used. The F1 tv app is the biggest offender, but is included in the subscription so still is relevant for this review. I can not properly screen share to monitors or tvs most of the time. Even when using an HDMI cord there has been times were the video just will not load on the other monitor or tv. This is so annoying. In addition the controls of watching the race are just barbaric. It buffers for a long time when performing any action. There are just so many issues I cannot even list them all with how the f1 tv app functions. This is very frustrating because it would not be that hard to just hire a team to update the app. Because once again the content really is pretty great.

Great until you want to cancel

In the app and online it tells you to cancel via the App Store yet there is no way to cancel a subscription from the App Store?!!?

Names

Instead of those pointless ads on the roll bar put the driver’s name there so we know who we are watching!

A step up from streaming on TSN but even 3rd rate Reddit streams are an upgrade so it’s not saying much. AMAZING how many times the live races black out to errors…When I go back to resume my race, it starts from the beginning. Horrible, horrible audio matching with the video issues constantly.
FIX THE DAMN APP and get a version for a console already.

Ruined the outcome

Whatever the last update was to this app it sucks. Two weeks in a row now I have been told the results on my notifications. It never was like that before. Qualifications and race final standings spoiled.

Only let down by race viewing time.?

My only complaint is that I don’t know when I can watch the main F1 race. It is on the schedule, but the time when the race will be shown on the app is not indicated which is a shame and annoying. I am new to F1 TV so this is my first experience. The $35 a year subscription that I paid is great value nonetheless. F1 TV is cheaper than anything else that I’ve seen so far. Thanks for the app!

Still a terrible app

F1TV is a great service. The app, particularly for Apple TV, is laughable. Constant logging in and the new QR code feature is a joke - instead of using my logged in IOS version, I have to sign in on a browser?

Also the iOS app never signs me out. Why can’t the Apple TV app work as reliably as Disney plus or similar.

Come on. Hire a team that can build a proper AppleTV app.

Also more broad complaint: stop autoplay. Just stop.

Requested Roku app enhancement

I’ve been a big F1 fan since the mid-90’s and love the F1 TV app. I usually try to watch all races live regardless of time zone but occasionally I have to catch the replays. One thing I’ve noticed is if I try to watch an in-progress session (practice, qualifying, race, etc.) on an iOS device, when I select “Watch live” I then get an option to either “start from the beginning” or “watch live”. This is a great feature, but I’ve noticed this isn’t available on the Roku app if I’m trying to watch the session on my TV. Instead, the Roku version of the app takes you straight to the live session, which isn’t ideal if you’re trying to avoid spoilers. It would be great if F1 TV can add the “start from the beginning” feature to all versions of the app, regardless of device. Thanks!
