Most effective and convenient way to read through the Bible in a Year

I never write reviews but I just love how simple, effective and convenient this app is. Love that you can start from any date, that you can change the theme, and that you can check it off as you go but still look back or forward. My favorite part is that it links directly to Youversion bringing you straight to the reading for the day.

Good app... changes bring confusion.

Edit: you can change versions. Thanks for letting me know. I’d add that info in the app but for my purposes 5 stars.

I enjoy the update but would love a more readable version such as the NRSV.

I am having difficulty understanding and it takes a little longer. Is there a way with the new update to change the version?

There is! If you want a broader variety of translation options I recommend downloading YouVersion and Yearly will then use your preferred translation in it.

Great, minimalist concept however

Update: raised from 2 stars to 4 because evidently you CAN select your own version if you install the Youversion Bible app. So this app (Yearly) is sort of a glorified shortcut that will open up your youversion app with the day’s verse.

I’m somewhat puzzled. The app was great but they just updated it. Now it’s a different version (it used to be NASV, now it’s American Standard from 1901). I mean if you like all of “thees” and “thous,” cool... but sort of lame getting all this distance reading and suddenly Boom. Welcome to an entirely different version.

Also the “write a review” link on their app doesn’t take you to the right app to write a review on. It just takes you to “iTunes” in the App Store.

*sigh. Well it was a good app. Probably the best bible reading tracker yet until the update. Oh well, on to the next one until they update theirs. 😖

Beau, I hear you on the old, wonky English of the ASV. It all comes down to license agreements. I really needed a Bible translation to come bundled with Yearly to satisfy app guidelines, and the ASV is old enough that it is free of license agreements. The NASB costs money. But as you said, YouVersion is a handy fallback for the translation you really want!

LOVE this app!!

This app is honestly so amazing! I really struggle to read through the Bible in a year and not lose momentum. But with this app not only can you link it to your phone or read from your actual Bible... but if you miss a day it’s okay because it’ll take of all that for you! Highly recommend this app!! I also love that it has you reading two different books of the Bible.

Great

Wish there was a 2 year option.

Love the new update!

Thank you for the new update that lets me access the daily readings from the app, very nice!

Simple, effective, free

Love the plan! Super easy to do. Love that it was consistently in both the OT and NT, so you’re never feeling overwhelmed reading through a book like Leviticus only.

Helpful, but could use more features

I love the idea of this app, but I would like to be able to see an overview of the year with what dates I have missed with my daily bible reading. It would also be good to have a more customisable background and have a button for the settings tab (swiping to find the settings is a bit confusing). It would also be good if the daily Bible verses could link to a website with the verses (such as Bible Study Tools or Bible Hub, etc.)

In saying that, this is a free app which works well. It would be even better with some more features :)

One critique

The only thing I absolutely want to change, is the scrolling. For someone like me who reads ahead, it’s almost impossible to scroll ahead to dates. It’s time consuming, and tedious.

YEARLY

Is terrific....It’s easy to figure out and follow! I’m able to read both Old and New testament simultaneously which I love!
