Bonanza

Always coming back after a break

Motivating

The courses with instructors really helped me reach and maintain a good level of motivation to go on with my rowing training week after week.

Great app

I love the CITYROW app. Instructors are great and a huge array of classes to keep you going at it!

Initially Awesome…but now

I had a limited free trial of the app and absolutely loved it. There are so many classes and not all of them use the rower. I saw a lot of potential to build my rowing as well as strength training and HITT. However, now as I delve deeper into the class base, I’m finding that every class I pick has the same exercises. Each time I work out it feels like I’m working the same muscles every day. I know I need to alternate muscle groups but doing suitcase squats and lunges every single day is not allowing my muscles to recover. It would be great if the description told you what muscle groups you’d be working but it doesn’t. Instead, I have to get through the warmup first to find out it’s the same exercises I did the day before. At first, I really chose the instructor Shaun almost every time but it go really repetitive. So I’ve tried a couple other instructors and it’s basically the same workout. For the monthly price tag I’m finding myself increasingly disappointed.

Best Rowing Ap Ever!

The instructors for City Row are awesome! There is a huge selection of classes for everyone whether you want to do a 20 min class or a 50 min class. On top of that, there are options for Pilates, stretch, strength, yoga in addition to the different types of rowing classes.

Great rowing motivation

Great selection of instructors and classes. Just the kick start I needed.

Premium at home fitness app

The subscription isn’t the cheapest and of course you need a rower, but there are many new workouts added all the time, great variety in terms of instructors and workouts, and the app itself is great at letting you track your progress. It links up to a variety of rowers, allows for unlinked input, and you can cast it to a screen. It does require an internet connection to work. My ask to developers would be for the ability to offline download workouts as that would make this pretty much unrivalled in terms of fitness app capabilities and would give ultimate use anywhere ability. But a great product overall.

Amazing so far!

I’ve been using CITYROW Go for a little over a week now and so far I love it! I used to find rowing really boring, but I’ve actually been enjoying working out since using this app. Can’t wait to try a live class on the app! Update: I‘be been using this app for about a month now and I love it! I use it almost every day. I actually look forward to working out now!

Update: I’ve been using this app for several months now and I’m still consistently using it. I love that there’s always new classes, so the workouts never get stale. This is the only workout type program I’ve stuck with consistently.

Works without branded rower

I’ve been using the app for about 2 months now and I really like it. I bought a different rower with magnetic resistance and while the instructions/ metrics they use in class don’t line up perfectly with my machine, I still really enjoy it. I follow the spm primarily and adjust my resistance when I want to push with a little more power at slower speeds. I particularly like that a lot of the classes mix rowing with dumbbell or core work on the floor. It’s nice to mix it up. The app is really simple to use and has a nice interface.
