Locks out for no reason
This worked fine for me for a few weeks until today. When I try to do ‘scan pay go’ it tells me ‘your session has been locked’ because apparently I didn’t complete the checkout process last time. Now this is obviously just a glitch: I completed and paid for my items just fine, but the app didn’t register this. Glitches like this happen, fine. But what is infuriating about this is there is nothing at all Waitrose staff can do about this, I was told to contact head office!! Signing out, deleting and reinstalling also fail to help. But to the point: why does the app have this stupid lock-out feature, what end is it supposed to serve? If I wanted to steal groceries would I really go to the trouble of scanning them all in only to skip payment at the end? It seems to me this lock-out could only ever activate as a result of a bug in the app, the too-clever dev team who thought this is a good idea should get a crash course in customer relations. Pointless feature triggering tediously predictable bug, spoiled my experience.
