Love the idea, but unfortunately…

In order for you to be able to create an account, we’re going to modify the app by adding speech recognition capabilities to it. After this modification — which will assume you’re currently able to log in to Facebook or Apple — the app will work as follows: Step 1: Load the app Step 2: For one minute, the app listens to whatever you’re saying and if it detects the word “Voice” in your speech (ie if you say “Voice”,) it continues to listen to you for the rest of the app session otherwise, it stops Step 3: The next word the app will wait for — provided it continues to listen to you — is “Account.” If it detects that word, it will ask, “Would you like to log in with Apple?” This step assumes you will have your device’s volume turned up enough to be able to hear the app’s question Step 4: Next, the app will expect to detect either “Yes” or “No” from you. If it detects the latter, it will load Facebook’s log in dialogue otherwise, it will load Apple’s Step 5: At this point, you’re left to interact with either Facebook or Apple. The app has no control over what happens during your interaction with any of the two. All it does is wait for a message from any of the two Step 6: After receiving the message referred to in the previous step, the app will let you know whether you’re logged in. If this is the first time you’re logging in, an account will automatically be created for you FYI: We’re currently creating the Android version of the app and expect to be able to perform the above modification in July/August 2021 ******************** Another thing I would like to draw to your attention, if you could be so kind as to respond to peoples reviews in a much kinder manner, you will not lose your business... I was reading customers reviews, and you responded to one of them with a very snotty attitude. >>> We consider responding to reviews a priceless opportunity to further educate the reviewer in regards to how recyPay works. Hence, in our responses, we strive to be as explanatory and informative as possible. If in doing so, we create a false impression of being unkind or snotty, we’re greatly apologetic as that’s never our intention. Thanks for the stars

This user requested to be rewarded before recycling anything. The app requires you to have a Virtual Recycling Balance of at least $50.00 before sending you your reward. We think that’s a fair requirement. If you know of any app similar to ours that rewards you unconditionally, please send us a link and we will reward you unconditionally too.
If I could give no stars I would

Your Welcome Bonus was added to your account balance. If you would like to have it transferred to you, please go to the “ACCOUNT” section of the app, tap the “Transfer” button, and follow the instructions you see just like everybody else does. ******************** I asked a question through customer service about why there are locations of this is virtual and received a snarky remark. >>> The Recycling Centers are virtual because the recycling is virtual. If you’re interested in virtually recyling from a recycling center that’s not virtual, you need to download an Augmented Reality app that offers that capability and you also need to purchase some AR headsets if you don’t already have any. recyPay is not an Augmented Reality app. ******************** The idea of “virtual” recycling is stupid anyway because it doesn’t actually help the environment in any way. Once you “virtually” recycle a can or bottle in the app, you get paid for it. But you could actually then just throw it away. >>> In our App Description, we’ve clearly stated that our goal is to incentivize recycling. Virtual Recycling and the rewards associated with it are simply an incentive to recycle. Numerous studies show that the effectiveness of incentives is partly dependent on human behavior. This implies that for a certain percent of humans, incentives are effective. It also means that a certain percentage of people that use recyPay either recycle or follow their local community’s guidelines in regards to recycling. Subsequently, Virtual Recycling and the rewards associated with it undisputedly benefits the environment. ******************** The app doesn’t ask for any kind of confirmation that you physically recycled the can or bottle at any point. It’s not helpful at all in reducing waste and helping the environment. >>> If you tap the “Bottle Bills” button located in the menu, the app offers you additional incentives provided you upload a document that confirms and proves you participate in your local community’s recycling program. Clearly, the app is helpful in reducing waste and helping the environment. ******************** Very disappointing. Don’t download. >>> For those of you that end up downloading the app anyway, using it is simple: just tap the “Scan” button to scan your items and then tap the “Recycle” button to recycle them.

On July 15, 2020, recyPay had some technical issues that lasted for several hours. The issues were resolved and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to all our users on that day. UPDATE After further investigating this problem, we have concluded that it was not caused by the technical issue mentioned above. This is because of your reference to the word “Waiting.” “Waiting” is displayed in both the “Recycle” and “Account” sections of the app. Always displayed opposite to the word “Waiting” is the number of items that are waiting to be recycled. When you tap the “Recycle” button located in the menu, the number of items that are waiting to be recycled decreases and the number of items that have been recycled increases, provided your Virtual Battery has enough power. Being stuck at the welcome bonus means that you haven’t yet recycled anything. As soon as you recycle, your account balance should increase beyond the bonus.

This most likely happened because there was no internet connection. The app is not able to save your items if there is no internet connection. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We are going to modify the app so that it warns you the moment you lose your connection to the internet. We will also consider saving your data locally on your device as this approach requires no internet.
Good app

Adding Apple Watch support is a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
