  • Cool game 👍 and attn AUTHOR please

Am really enjoying this game but this is now the 2nd time I have run into an annoying limitation on member turnover.

I am playing with the 4-member option. Several members retired on good terms. Some killed in action. No one booted. So it is time to retire Galin but when we scout for suitable replacements, they start to chicken out because of our high turnover.

(I don't get it. So what? It's the nature of a mercenary troup. If anything it would make more game sense that the mere chance to join up with such a renowned company as The Ragged Bunche would be jumped at.)

Back to the action. Eventually I am forced to retire Galin if he's gonna be happy about it, and now the group is down to 3 members permanently.

Bummer. With the turnover limitation, this is a suicide mission from now on. If we lose another member, it's down to 2 members and no recruits available because they are afraid. And the eventual, inevitable massacre by roaming cultists.

This is an imaginative and immersive game otherwise. Love it! But this part no make sense.

    Developer Response

There's a total of 15 party members to be hired, that's just how many there are. The game tells you no one wants to join up as to not break immersion, but really it's how many party members I have created. The intended gameplay loop is you make as good use of them as you can and give them as good a retirement as you can and then retire your company and it gets saved in the book of heroes. Then if you still want to play, on the next run you try to do better.
  • Well Made

Don’t be fooled by this being a hard find, this is a fantastic game for those interested in role-playing and difficult strategy games. I only wish there were even more to the game than currently present. Ads aren’t annoying at all, which is a godsend given how great this game is.
  • Impossible to succeed

Game is well made and entertaining, but there is no way to progress.

The only way to win the game is to 1. Complete your characters life goals and 2. Retire your players with enough money. There is a problem with each of these. You don’t know what their goals are until you find individuals in game that they interact with ( I can’t find them) and you have no idea how much your characters need to retire. I know 500 gold each isn’t enough.

The villains are inconsistently leveling up as your characters do, meaning a bear you easily beat before can one hit your level 4 character. It makes the game incredibly frustrating. I’ve lost three parties of players in the 3 days I’ve played and I’ve played.

    I’m done with this game.

  • Nice

Beautifully designed. The Occident seems in-depth and strangely alive, and to the extent of my knowledge, i know of no other mobile game that has managed to capture this feeling. Thank you.
Occidental Heroes is truly a hidden gem and if you read this please do tell everyone about this game. However, a problem that i have experienced is that there is some sort of error when i try to purchase the “remove ads”. It seems as if i cannot fix this problem by myself no matter what i do, regrettably, i will not be able to throw some coins your way as a token of appreciation.

  • New Content Suggestions

I think that this game is truly great and is a hidden gem, but I feel that a possible skill tree as the characters level up would add more depth to the game. Also, different classes like wizards and clerics would be cool.
  • Sehr Gut

Great game and great developer, can’t wait to try your future works if you decide to make any more.
  • Old school adventure game

Fantastic game from a tiny team, old school fun, part roguelike, part choose your own adventure, part combat strategy. Needs more content, but the current content is quite good, and I suspect I missed quite a bit of the backstories, etc.
  • Nice game

I’m impressed. I started playing and was grinding through earning money when a quest specific to one of my men appeared. I frankly wasn’t expecting that level of detail and I appreciate it. Nice game.
  • Love this game!!!!

I loved it. It’s really fun. I played it until 4 am. I wish it was bigger and had a lot more to it. It was really hard for me to find somebody to join. I lost a mate early on and had only two guys after that. But a really fun game. I hope they make this one bigger or continue to make more!
  • Darklands lite

This game reminded me a lot of the old PC game called Darklands, and that’s a good thing. This is a rare gem of a game: a solid, turn-based crpg in the older west RPG style, with a simple, easy interface. At the same time it is unforgiving of mistakes. When I was finally defeated, it was due to a couple of avoidable tactical blunders on my own part.
