Great app, greatly improved browsing on iPhone.
I also like that it doesn’t have a subscription like some of these scammy, garbage apps on here trying to rip you off monthly— it was a one time purchase. that does not extend the VPN service, but I already have a VPN so I only use the 1Blocker basic app.

It’s so good to hear that you enjoy using 1Blocker. We really appreciate your support!
Pros and Cons
The downside to this extensive tracking is that this app uses a lot of processing power. Both my iPhone X and iPad Pro 10.5” ran significantly hotter while this app was running, and battery life was reduced by several hours. Unfortunately, since I have older devices with healthy but reduced battery capacity already, I can’t accept the trade off with using 1Blocker.
Thankfully, this app has a trial period for the subscription features. Obviously newer devices will be less affected by the additional resources used by this app, but it’s clear this app uses a lot of resources. Give the free trial a try.

Thank you for sharing the comment about your experience with 1Blocker! 1Blocker can still work on your device without affecting the battery life that much, and I'll be happy to help configure the app. First of all, the good news is that content blocking in Safari is highly battery-efficient, so the only tool that can drain battery is Firewall if it's running in the HTTP Proxy mode. So, it's worth switching from HTTP Proxy to DNS Proxy from the (…) button at the upper-right corner of the app's Firewall tab. It should improve battery usage. 1Blocker may take about one minute to reconfigure the filtering mode. Also, if any additional questions arise, we are always ready to guide you through them. Just downloaded it and used it and it works well for safari
Thank You Very Much to Whoever Created this app I appreciate it a lot making it free.
Couldn’t Use Safari Without It
Great app, but
Best App and I have tried many others
Overall having tried many other Apps I keep coming back to 1Blocker and it is here to stay and one of my first installs on any new system.
Incredible Tool for Preventing Ads from Displaying!
This week so far it has blocked 2,836 trackers,
516 ads, and 90 others. I've gotten good support from the small support and development team. I was told that Apple's software development plan will allow 1Blocker to much more quickly add to the 1Blocker rule base. Filtering out trackers, ads, and others let's me see the HTML pages and videos much quicker and without time spent to carefully move around ads. GREAT APPLICATION!

Good but AdGuard is better
Why do I get shown a massive list of rules with look like a big mess to most people?
Adding new rules is a complicated process compared to AdGuard. Why do I have to reload the website in another (built in?) browser to be able to pick a custom rule? AdGuard’s process is faster and simpler, and also more precise.
The firewall also seems like an after thought just to say they have one to compete with AdGuard and others. Totally zero customization… the biggest being the inability to use a custom DNS server instead of being forced to use cloudflare (iirc).
Finally, rules updates are too slow. The internet changes at a fast pace and AdGuard allows the user to manually check for updates just incase.
That said, if you want a simple toggle and forget blocker, 1Blocker might be for you… even if the price is what I consider steep for what you get.
Cheers.
Are there in-app updates anymore?
*UPDATE* - Thank you for replying to my questions. I now understand why there was a change. I’ve updated my star rating as a result of the developer answering my question and letting me know how the system works now.
This is one app I will continue to subscribe to as long as there are ads and trackers that need to be blocked.

Hello BlueLodgeTed, thank you so much for your question. I'll be happy to clear things up on this. We replaced the old spinner with a progress bar and moved it to the bottom of the screen, so it's not that noticeable anymore. We've decided to do it to improve the app's interface because the new rule processing indicator doesn't block the interface now. It's important to mention that both the spinner and the new indicator appear when 1Blocker pushes the existing blocking filters to Safari. So, it's related to local synchronization between 1Blocker and Safari rather than the remote rules updates. The only way to see the rules version in the app is by checking it at the bottom of the Settings screen. I hope this explanation helps, but if you want to clarify something, you are more than welcome to contact us here, via the app or our email (support@1blocker.com) anytime! UPD: Thank you for getting back to us here! Your feedback means the world to our small team.
