Miku Baby Monitor User Reviews

if you want your baby to die

Then you should buy this

Used to be great.

My wife and I have had this monitor for over a year and a half. We spent up to get this because of all the features it had with just one big purchase and no subscription. Well by the rating you can see things have change drastically. The monitor now on top of its $500 price tag you also have to pay a $10 subscription. So in total you have to pay $620 plus tax to watch your baby for a year. The features are better than anything else I’ve seen the problem is they are not worth half a grand for. The fact they went bankrupt and this new company is just changing to a subscription service while keeping sales price the same is extremely dirty. All while they did it without having you sign anything or an email warning, the app updated one day and that was it. All of our babies sleep history gone, hours of analytics gone, our baby standing in the crib for the first time on a saved video through the app gone! Now we can only watch our baby through the monitor when it actually works, now there’s so many technical issues I can’t even keep the thing on for a week without it kick my wife or I off having to reset the whole system. This was once great now it’s the most overpriced piece of garbage that you can buy, so don’t save your money!

Do not buy a miku

Not only the app is incredible buggy and unreliable, but the company is joke. They brick the Miku by releasing an update to the devices without fully testing. As a result the company filled for bankruptcy and now you need a subscription to access features that it was free before (live breathing, video recording, time asleep). This would've been fine if knew this before buying the device, but paying almost $500 for a baby monitor and then having the features which where the reason why I paid so much to be take off is a slap in the face.

Miku pro is an Absolute Garbage

I wish I could return it. Don't waste your money on unreliable products.

Don’t waste your money

This company scammed us into spending over $500 because breathing monitoring was included with no monthly fee. Then they took away all the features and introduced a monthly fee. On top of this, every night as I’m rocking my baby to sleep the alarm starts blaring saying ‘no movement detected’ and shocks her awake. I am so angry at this company!

Forced into monthly subscription

You need to buy this super expensive camera - and it was worth it when it kept history and had live breathing built-in. Now they want you to pay monthly for that so it is a complete scam now as you can buy a better $20 webcam on Amazon.

Rip off

Camera not worth the price if you now need to pay a subscription.

Don’t do it. Don’t get tempted.

Plan garbage this monitor and the app.

We got tempted by the live breathing. Read the reviews about the app not always working and said…nah, that won’t be us. Yes it is. App rarely works properly. Just a bad product and even worse service.

DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR !

Several months ago, we purchased the Miku monitor in anticipation of our first child. Like many first-time mothers, I was concerned about SIDS well before the baby's arrival. When selecting a monitor, our decision came down to the Nanit and Miku, mainly due to the breathing monitor feature. After considering reviews (which, in hindsight, I suspect may have been biased), we chose Miku because it didn't require special clothing for the baby.

Regrettably, our experience with the Miku monitor has fallen far short of our expectations, especially considering its substantial cost. Firstly, the breathing monitor frequently activates and indicates breathing even when my baby is not in the crib. Sometimes, there isn't even anyone in the room, which is not only unsettling but also a major concern.

Secondly, on multiple occasions, I have taken my baby downstairs to feed her, only to receive an alarm about 20 minutes later, claiming that she's not breathing. A 20-minute delay in alerting me to such a critical issue is unacceptable, as any delay could have dire consequences.

Lastly, one of the primary selling points of the Miku is its mobile app, allowing us to monitor our baby wherever we go. However, the app consumes an excessive amount of data and battery. This forced both my husband and me to uninstall the app twice due to data overages. We had to resort to purchasing a separate tablet, always connected to our home Wi-Fi, just to use the monitor effectively. - also note it’s extremely difficult to connect if you ever do disconnect it from your phone.

All of the aforementioned issues are, in my opinion, inexcusable, given that they pertain to the core functionalities they advertise and come at a high price. To be honest, if I had the option, I would request a refund and replace the monitor with a more affordable alternative that could meet our needs.

And the final nail in the coffin.. I recently discovered that Miku has gone bankrupt, a fact we were never informed of. It has now been modified so that users must subscribe to access essential features like breathing monitoring and video recording. This change is entirely unreasonable, and I would have never made the initial purchase had I known about this subscription model.

Just do yourself a favour and buy either the Nanit or just a cheap non WiFi monitor - it’s going to save you a lot of hassle and money!

Thieving a-holes

Sold a $700 device based on features they took away and hid behind paid subscription making it no better than a $50webcam.

Now the on device sounds crash the app when u open the menu.

Save ur cash, buy an Aqara webcam it’s cheaper has PTZ and doesn’t need cloud services to work. Bonus is Aqara integrates with google Alexa and apple to activate smart devices if movement of your baby is detected.
