  • Not worth it!

The iPhone has had lidar scanners in the camera system for years, but this app requires using the user facing camera, with no option to change it.

Also, paying for this every year is weak when you can guy a hardware scanner, not have these same limitations, and not have a recurring bill. If you could buy this outright and it had support for the cameras on the back of the iPhone Pro line, it might be worth it, but until then there are better option.

  • Nerfed m

Extremely hard to get a decent scan with.
    Poor object tracking.
    Poor texture quality.
    Buggy (Crashes easily/ frequently )
Nerfed feature set (Disabled file import in last update).

The developers have potential here for sure but the app has recently gone in a negative direction. Each of the recent updates had introduced new bugs and reduced/ nerfed functionality.

I appreciate that the developer is making an effort but this app has gotten significantly worse for their recent efforts.

I hope to see a more positive direction for this app in the future but as it currently stands I do not recommend this app. I’m sorry , I hate to be so harsh but it’s the truth.

Good luck and I hope your able to pull through this and get things together.

  • Its good but could use some fixes

The app itself is really useful but I wish there was a way to flip the camera so if someone can help you it is much easier to do scans and I wish there was a way to do a endless time limit for when you put the delay
  • Awesome!

I love the app! I’m doing full body scans – is there any chance that we could have a new feature to customize the time on the self timer option, or have additional 15 second increments all the way up to two minutes? My turntable isn’t fast enough to do a full circle in 60 seconds which is the max limit in the app right now. But truly an amazing app anyways!

  • Horrendous

Got the app for object scanning. But it only uses the front facing camera and it’s insanely difficult to see what your doing when you have to face the phone away from you to do so! Go for another option. Not even interested in front facing head scans even though it does seem like that would work nicely. Absolutely useless for everything else I need it to do though. They have to say it only uses the front facing camera up front.

  • Annoying losing track

Keep losing track and keep trying…errr, trash. What good does it do if it keeps telling me it is losing track and I have to start all over again? Search keyword TrueDepth 3D from the App Store and you will find a couple of good ones there.
  • Worst scanner out there

Don’t listen to any of the 5 star reviews they are bots (even if there is a dev response)
This app is horrible it makes subpar scans and you can only make 1 scan per week and to get past that you have to pay 150$ DOLLARS
There are much betters choices elsewhere but don’t, and I repeat DON’T waste your time, money, and/or energy here.

  • The Best

I researched nine 3D scanner apps in depth, selected three to test. Among the three, for the same amount of effort, and no prior experience, I got unusable results from the other two and near perfection from ScandyPro. I tried each app three times in a row, adjusting as I learned how to use each one. Only ScandyPro gave me a result I can use.

  • Ok object scanner great face scanner

I am looking to scan small-ish 5 cm objects. Even though this app seems made for larger objects sometimes I can get a good mesh. This size seems to be at the limit of what the front facing camera can detect so it often loses track of my object and starts doing the red flash. And I am getting weird results when I spin the object instead of move the phone. I’m probably not using the app for its typical purpose here. It is great at face scans! Thanks to the tutorial video on scanning a toy bear on a turntable I know it’s possible & will keep an eye on this app.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the feedback. When using a turntable, you will need to make sure that the camera does not see any stationary items in the frame, since that can throw off tracking. For instance, if your screen shows the scan subject, the turntable, and the surface that the turntable is resting on, the scan will likely not work since the camera will try and track on both the moving objects (turntable and scan subject) and the stationary object (the surface) at the same time.
  • Super cool!

I got this because I saw it in a video, and it’s been a lot of fun just scanning random things, my best one so far being of a soda can.
