  • Payment method never works

Payment method no matter won’t work. It’s a Mastercard and are you trying to commit identity theft asking so much information, credit card information AND ID ??
  • The app prevents from deleting an account

I don't have outstanding balance but the app still would not allow deleting my account. and there is no option for customer service.
  • Disappointing

Tried 2 scooters. Unlock, push off, press go, neither of them worked. Waste of time
  • Beware of auto charges

I visited Basel for two days and downloaded this app. It auto signed me up for a monthly pass subscription and has charged me for 3 months on my credit card without permission. I am seeking a refund for these charges. So tricky!
  • Used it for about 20 sec.

They won’t even tell you how much it costs to use their services. Why on earth would you think I‘d give you a payment method, when I don’t even know how much you charge?
  • App hardly works

Regardless of the payment method I tried, it wouldn’t work. It says to contact support if this happens, which I try to do and just get a white screen. I also get a white screen when trying to add certain payment methods. Would be a decent way to get around if the lousy app just worked.
  • Incompetent money grabbers

All the things I dislike about VOI: 1. They’re terrible at regulating the capacity of the vehicle pickup points. Very often in the city centre where I live there are simply no scooters to be found. Other times all the zones are full and you can’t park. 2. When you can’t park they have the audacity to keep charging you while you look for another space! Imagine a taxi driver arriving at your house and saying “actually I’m not dropping you off here. We’re going to keep driving *and* you’re going to pay for it” 3. As a user you receive anonymous, patronising emails about the need to take better photos of your scooter. Clearly a bot is making these assessments as there is usually nothing wrong with the photo. 4. Large parts of the city where I live have been inexplicably marked as no riding zones, including the area around my local train station Cambridge North which is just dumb and annoying. It’s a wide road used by buses and bikes - so why can’t you scoot there? VOI used to allow this but one day decided you couldn’t.

  • Terrible service, DONT USE

Service is terrible. So many restrictions. Almost got hit by a car because my scooter suddenly stopped completely in a slow zone. Never using again. They didn’t rewarded me for the 6 people I referred.
  • Wonderful app until a lot of bugs with recent updates

I want to start off by saying I love Voi and I’ve been using them regularly for commute and leisure for two years now with no issues. I have also found their customer service very good when calling with the very occasional issue with parking a scooter etc.
The past couple of app updates have been frustrating though - often the map won’t open, and if it does open it won’t show me where available scooters are parked or let me open the camera to scan and unlock a scooter. I have a subscription that I can’t use because the app just seems to have stopped working for me. It also drains my battery like nothing else. Voi I love you, please fix this!

  • WARNING! Dangerous at best

Be warned! Most zones around the city are no-ride zones. The Voi app does not communicate this properly. It will mark parks etc as no ride by the roads adjacent are an ambiguously lighter grey, with no actual specification. Regardless, a r city ride app in which most of the city is no-ride is entirely pointless. Expect to be throttled to a crawling speed if you’re lucky, or more likely have your ride entirely disabled. This happens suddenly, randomly and without warning. It caused frustration and danger to both myself and cars behind me. I felt very unsafe and called Voi support who were nothing but rude and defensive before ultimately hanging up on me. I rarely write negative reviews but I honestly believe it’s in public health interest to encourage people to avoid an unaccountably dangerous company. Ride with caution - if you can ride at all.
